I had a really bad experience in this restaurant. First, when we were approached by one of the employees (green polo shirt guy) he started gesturing and imitating a Chinese man and then a Japanese. Not satisfied, he started saying out loud some incomprehensible “Japanese” words. I don’t get why he thought that was okay. What if he goes abroad and someone start talking and calling him “Mario” with that peculiar Italian accent and make fun of him in a public place?! Honestly, I think nobody deserves to be treated like that. My wife and I are Japanese but we grew up overseas and we were very embarrassed by the jokes and yet we kindly accepted a table as we were tired and hungry and wanted to relax and enjoy an authentic Italian dish. We were offered two small complimentary glasses of wine if we opted for the restaurant. Until that moment, we thought the employee's behavior was only silly and we decided to get over it. But after we placed our orders, I noticed that two waiters (again, the green polo shirt guy and a blond hair guy) referred to us as cheap customers and after that the treatment got worse. The main course came cold, disassembled on the plate and was one of the worst food we had in Rome. They did not bring the drinks we had ordered also. My wife and I are very private people and we don't like any type of confrontation, so in the end we asked for the bill and to our surprise they had even charged for the drinks that were offered to us as a “courtesy” also a service fee (one for each of us). The most impressive thing was the waiter's attitude (blonde hair guy), practically throwing the bill on the table and when he received the payment he didn't even thank us. I feel sorry for the owner of the restaurant. I really don’t understand why people do things like this. Rome is a touristic place and they need consumers like us in order to move the economy. If you are a tourist, do yourself a favor and avoid this restaurant. It is for sure a tourist trap. Ps.: The restaurant's owner replied to my review on TripAdvisor. Unfortunately he is denying what happened and to top it off he is trying to blame...
Read moreI can’t recommend this place at all. Even if it were not for the incredibly rude service, the food alone would give this restaurant a very low placement on the Rome restaurant scene. I’ve lived in Rome for over 10yrs and I can safely say this is one of the worst places I’ve dined at. Rude waiters forcing certain dishes they wanted to push, saying they didn’t have a dish then changing their mind when we pointed out that 3 plates of it was just delivered to the nearby table. They were trying to rush us out before we even started.
Worst yet was the food. Not inedible but very tasteless overall. Spaghetti with clams with hardly any wine or garlic was absolutely tasteless, ravioli with truffles tasted like the sauce came from a bottle and eggplant parmigiana was a mess. It was New Years Eve and they wanted to prepare for the next service, the second seating. I understand but this is no excuse. It is a moderately priced restaurant where you’d pay about $45 a head without dessert but there are so many other restaurants at this price range and even lower that are so much better. Don’t waste your...
Read moreFood is ok, but what a terrible waiter!!! I know Italians in general speak really loudly but this guy topped the first place in giving customers awful headache!!! Felt like he was causing us instant migraine. It started with he totally ignored me and my boyfriend’s orders while he was joking with other Western customers. When he suddenly came to our table after several attempts to get his attention we were shocked in the way he spoke to us. He was so aggressive, trying his best to act funny and so one but goood HE CAN’T WORK IN A SERVICE BRANCH talking to customers as if we were his amigos. I dont think I misunderstood his intentions of being just friendly, as other customers seemed to give the same awkward reactions towards his behaviors. Please give this guy some lessons in customer management or I’m afraid your Google rate will decrease dramatically. I wish we could be served by the blonde girl wearing glasses, we noticed how she treated her customers so professionally as a good...
