Worst restaurant iâve ever been in my life. Donât recommend it at all. They sell cocktails for take away outside for 5 euros, and when I clearly asked the lady on the door if I could drink those same cocktails even if I sat inside to eat (not take away) she said âyes, no problem at allâ. But when you sit and order food the âsame cocktailsâ cost 10 euros. And the cocktails are bad, not even worth the 5 euros for take away. Besides that, they charge 10% of your check for no reason, because they also say âtips not includedâ. When I asked what the 10% were for (because I havenât seen that in any other restaurant in Rome) they just said it was written on the bottom of the page on the menu and âthey just work thereâ. While I was asking about the 10% charge, another waiter that wasnât in the conversation came in to ask where Iâm from, that I thought had nothing to do with the conversation and what I was asking about. If that wasnât enough, they charged me more on the card machine (besides the 10% that I was obligated to pay for), that they gave back when I complained and said was wrong. Horrible place, I felt disrespected from the beginning, I donât recommend and would never go there again. They were super rude, unfriendly and misleading from the beginning. Not just about the money or 10% I had to pay for, but the way they treated us and the way we felt. What a shame. Too bad I canât...
Read moreMade the unfortunate mistake of eating here on our first night in Rome. Both me and my wife fancied pizza therefore I asked the waitress how big they were in order to ascertain wether to get one to share or each. She said medium and made a small hand gesture. On the back of that we decided to order some bruschetta aswell. The waitress in broken English said salad to share which we agreed. Out came a massive plate full of tomotoes with a dollop of mozerella. Plus the original bruschettas. Not exactly what we wanted bearing mind the bruschettas had lots of tomotoes on.
Out came the pizzas next. Bearing mind we were in Rome we've had nicer frozen pizzas from Lidl back in the UK! We decided not to have deserts as we were full from eating Italys annual supply of tomotoes. I promptly asked for the bill and I was robbed of âŹ57 which âŹ9 of that was for the tomotoe salad which turned out to be a Caprese (something which we not of ordered had we realised) Oh don't forgot the 10% service charge which seems to be a common trend on restaurants near and around the Trevi fountain.
All in all a disappointing start meal wise to our Rome trip. We later found much nicer restaurants around the Vatican end of Rome of who actually knew how to make a delicious pizza for funnily enough the same price as these idiots. Go on like this Locanda and you'll be joining the scam artists selling roses to...
Read moreDonât listen to the reviews that say the waitress was bad. Hereâs the scoop. So we got to the restaurant and stayed there for four hours because every single course took an hour to get to the table. There was on waitress working in one room. With about 20 tables. We saw a bunch of people coming and going and leaving angrily and looking miserable. And the food was not good. Everything was thrown together on a plate, an hour late, and my shrimp had the veins on it and it was dirty. Not seasoned. The pasta was over cooked and nothing tasted good it was very mediocre and our waitress was alone in the room - very very very bad and selfish management over working their staff.
Not just overworking? They have five people working on a night they were fully booked in 3 large rooms. And it was so sad to see how hard everyone was working and people snap at them like itâs their fault. Itâs the managements fault for even allowing this. Our food was bad. And the experience...
