My husband and I visited L'Antica Trattoria while on our honeymoon in Sorrento, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish! We got this recommendation from TikTok and Rick Steve's book and are so glad we did!
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and attention, making us feel like the most important guests of the evening. The atmosphere was romantic and cozy, with soft lighting and a beautifully set table that made the evening feel truly special.
The service was impeccable. Our server, Antonino, was knowledgeable, friendly, and made excellent recommendations from the menu. He made our experience truly one of a kind when he went outside of the restaurant and came back with a man who serenaded us to "Can't Help Falling in Love." I can't not emphasize enough how much of a dreamy night it was!
It’s clear that L'Antica Trattoria cares deeply about providing not just a meal, but an experience. One that we absolutely had to experience again! We returned the following the night to be greeted by Antonino again and we were so pleased. We chatted with him, shared some laughs, some more delicious food, but also shared in some of the best memories!
Along with great service, the meal was the BEST that we had during our entire ten days in Italy. I would definitely recommend the Tagliolini Antica Trattoria lemon pasta as it was so good that I got it both nights. However, you truly can't go wrong when selecting anything from the menu.
We want to go back to Italy just to experience this restaurant again.
If you’re looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion, we highly recommend L'Antica Trattoria and request Antonino, if at all possible. Thank you for making our honeymoon even...
Read moreRead moreA peaceful restaurant with a romantic courtyard in beautiful green leafy shades. Sadly the food was not great and worst of all the bill was dishonest. Red prawns were not cleaned and served overcooked with their poo black guts left inside and encrusted in batter that tasted off. We love anchovies normally, but the flavours were off here. A large disturbing swarm of ants crawled all over the wall and floor close to the seats and the dining table yet the waiter (tall man, who liked to ask where the diners come from) was unfazed by the fact that guests were sitting a mere few inches from the swarm. The saddest was that they dishonestly faked the bill, by entering small changes to dishes we didn’t eat, and increasing the wine prices to a higher value which we didn’t order, thereby quietly overcharging €45. I am suspecting that the wrong bill might not be a one-off accident as the errors were put into multiple entries on the bill and they were very minor adjustments to what we indeed ordered: 2 spaghettis instead of 1; a couple of euros difference to the ordered wine. When questioned, it is surprising to us that the tall waiter quickly refunded us without seemingly even surprised. Be careful, check the bill very carefully. We didn’t notice the fake charges at first; and if one is dining with a group of people and having a few courses like we did, the bill can easily be altered without getting noticed. The price of the menu is already inflated too. To put in context, the price of the dishes here matches a Michelin starred restaurant in Sorrento that we just visited, but without the quality or the finesse. Many other superior options nearby. I found this restaurant on Google Maps and saved it for a future trip. While we were in Naples, we weren’t initially sure if we wanted to go, but in the end, we decided to visit — and we’re so glad we did.
Right away, we were welcomed by friendly staff. We asked if there was a table available for two, and the manager took us to a separate room where he asked us to wait a bit while they found a spot for us. We waited about 5–7 minutes in a beautiful lounge area, were offered Prosecco, and received some complimentary bites from the chef.
I’ll mention again — in total, we waited around 7 minutes. After that, we were seated at our table. Everything looked lovely, and the atmosphere wasn’t too loud. Of course, there were a lot people, but it was still very pleasant.
The menu wasn’t very large, but every dish we tried — pasta and sea bass was absolutely delicious. We also had dessert, which was great as well.
We went there on my birthday, and they prepared a surprise: they serve me a dessert with a candle. There was a man playing a ukulele-style guitar, and he played Happy Birthday for me. But when he learned I was from Ukraine, he performed the beloved Ukrainian song “Chervona Ruta” — it was truly touching! Honestly, the entire restaurant joined in congratulating me, and the atmosphere was unforgettable. We would happily return.
As for the prices — it’s not a cheap place. We spent about €80 per person, but we were absolutely full. Plus, with the complimentary items, excellent service, and of course tips, the experience was well worth it.
It’s not an everyday restaurant, but for a special occasion in Sorrento, it was the...
