Il Mastino Bistrot — Restaurant in Verona

Wasted 50 minutes waiting our order just for food not to arrive at all!

This will be longer a bit to really explain the negligence. Went there with my family 2 days ago and was very disappointed.

We ordered 2 Pizzas only to be told that there aren't anymore Pizzas available for the time being. It's Italy, with all restaurants next to each other serving Pizzas, but hey, some supply issue or staff issue can happen so that's understandable. Then the messy organization came about. I asked if we can just cancel the order, the plan was we drink cofree and go somwhere else to eat. The lady who served us came back 2 minutes later and said we can actually give you your ordered pizza. We asked if it will be around 20 minutes or less, because if more we don't have that much time and we would go somewhere else, she said yes it will be ready. Around 15 minutes after this conversation new table sat next to us. Around 30 minutes or little bit more after our order the Pizzas arrived, but not for us but for the table next to us who came like 20 minutes after us. That was for me the last drop. When I said we are waiting for pizzas and asked about our order, and if possible we would like to cancel if not ready, the team didn't even know that we had order in first place and the lady was nowhere to be seen.

I asked the bill, went to pay 2 coffees we had, the lady who i finally saw inside restaurant, who was "serving" us, didn't even offered explanation or apology which I received only from the guy working as the cashier who was very polite just didnt know what happened. Overall, time wasted, and service needs a lot of training on how to approach their customers, especially in delicate moments, or to at least approach and not ignore...

There were 2 of us and they put us in the very back in the section for tables for 2. We were given an iPad and had to order from the iPad. Our food arrived before our wine and water. Our food seemed like it had been made ahead of time and reheated. It was the worst Carbonara and Eggplant Parmigiana I’ve ever had. Olive Garden has better food. The bread “colander” baskets are pre-filled and stored on a table in the corner. I touched each piece of bread hoping to find something soft and rejected each piece. They put our “basket” right back on that table to serve someone else. We never saw a waiter again after they dropped our food off. They added a 6 Euro charge for plates and silverware. I left so disappointed. By far my worst meal in Italy. The take away from the train station in Florence was far superior...

We had an amazing pizza here, and now we truly understand why Italy is celebrated worldwide for its pizza. The flavors, freshness, and authenticity were simply unforgettable.
