Update to add: we visited again in June and brought friends with us. We had another amazing experience and Stefano took great care of us on both occasions (lunch and dinner). The food was delicious, great ambience, friendly and attentive service, clean restaurant and bathroom. Can’t wait to return!
This place quickly became a favorite in Verona! Best pizza we’ve had in Italy so far! We highly recommend the wurstel and patate (roasted potatoes) pizza. The gnocchi is also delicious, as well as the raspberry/chocolate tart. The employees are welcoming and friendly. Juliana was so helpful and courteous. She makes excellent recommendations on food and wine. The service was prompt and we enjoyed the atmosphere. The chef was friendly to my toddler and even gave her a slice of fresh prosciutto. We loved our experiences here and returned 3 days during our trip to Verona. We will recommend this place to friends and will definitely return on...
Read moreBeautiful building obviously laden with history, with the music bistro downstairs set in a gorgeously restored cellar with full bar and restaurant, with the perfect stage for live music to accompany the excellent meat dishes they serve. I did originally want a nice fish dish tonight but they don't seem to do any. They do however serve many excellent meat dishes, and we had the rooster with veg which was cooked perfectly. If you're a veggie you'll struggle here unless you count alcohol as a vegetable; if you're vegan this might be a time to re-evaluate your life choices. Jazz lovers are sure to be delighted with the regular sets from local and international musicians, and the broad range of cocktails suits most tastes while the bands play on. They also support a range of blues and rock bands so check out their schedule, and I recommend booking at least a day in advance to get the best seats by the stage. Highly...
Read moreConsidering the area, the food here was very well made and delicious. We stopped by for dinner after a night at the Arena to see a summer opera. We were fully expecting this place to be crowded and overrun with tourists but we saw locals having a late drink with work colleagues at the outside cafe which immediately made it feel homier.
We had a fresh house salad followed by the horse meat, arancini and a fresh pizza with rocket and spicy salami. The staff were all friendly despite the later hour and food came quickly and hot from the kitchen. The kitchen staff and waiters even allowed us to add a few ingredients to the pizza that weren’t listed so definitely accommodating!
With the ancient arena behind you and the acoustics from the large square, it’s the perfect dinner location if you are in Verona and find yourself...
