This is good Italian food and I don’t mean “compared to the rest of the ‘Italian’ food in Japan” NO! Good Italian food period. Starting from the appetizer, calamari. Well cooked though obviously frozen it was still prepared well with a well seasoned batter and a perfect citrus tartar sauce 7.1/10. Next the entree, Paccheri. Honestly the star of the show FANTASTIC! Couldn’t make it better myself 8.9/10. Finally I’m ALWAYS going to order tiramisu for desert. This one was pretty good mild sweetness, lady fingers well soaked with coffee(though I would’ve preferred it to be a bit more bitter, personal preference) overall 7.8/10. The ambience of this restaurant is truly lovely but the food was just awful, and very expensive at that. We ordered an appetizer, salads, pizza, and pasta. The appetizer was heavily over-salted, the salads were drowning in dressing (which was also extremely salty) but the pizza and pasta were bland. To top it off what we thought were complimentary breadsticks on the table (there when we were seated) were actually charged to our bill. Worst pizza I had in decades. I never had a domino pizza but this is what I imagine it to be like. It was fluffy and greasy. I ordered the Ortolana, and did not read well what was on it (my mistake); in Italy Ortolana means with vegetables, I had it so often in Italy. This ‘Ortolana’ had a few pieces of eggplant and LOTS of ricotta, and sausage. So it was very heavy and so not what an Ortolana should be like.
