BELLA BOCCA Namba — Restaurant in Osaka

Farm to Table - this quite uncommon here in Osaka so it’s good to see Bella Bocca open their second branch in Osaka. They have their own farm and here, we have an opportunity to have a large variety of fresh vegetables in a very delicious way. It easy to see and taste the love and dedicated that goes into the vegetables as well as their preparation. The salad bar alone is worth the visit - they also have a variety of condiments and dressings to make your salad to your tastes. Their menu is not for vegetarians but the staff was quick to accommodate my dietary needs. Unfortunately, the chef failed to add a bit more oil, salt, and pepper to the dish to make up for the missing flavors that the meatless dish would produce. I just used the condiments from the salad bar to make my dish the way I wanted - it it would’ve been nice if the chef had handled it. It may be that not enough vegetarians come here and the chef isn’t used to making dishes without the meat. The meal was topped off with their home made tiramisu which seems to be what they are famous for. This restaurant is already crowded and the locals know it well, but we need more farm to table restaurants and I hope more people come to this place not only to enjoy a great meal, but also to show entrepreneurs that this model can be successful. I had lunch here today with two friends. The food was quite good, and I appreciate the effort to support organic farmers. However, the service was disappointing. While the female staff were friendly and smiling as described on the website, the male staff member who attended our table was overly commanding.

He instructed us to add their LINE account to view the menu, even though the same menu was already available on their website. The way he spoke felt unnecessarily forceful and created pressure, rather than offering a choice. It was uncomfortable to be pushed and potentially sharing personal contact information just to access something that was already publicly available.

Moreover, the online reservation system asks for excessive personal details and does not offer a clear, black-and-white method—such as an email address—for customers to request deletion or stop the use of their information. All these measures seem designed primarily to serve the restaurant’s own interests, rather than respecting the comfort or privacy of their guests. Scammy place and not welcome, don't go! We tried 3 times to go. One time during dinner time, all tables were empty but they told us they were fully booked. Then we came back for lunch, the menu (no english menu) say that you have buffet but it's actually only small useless salad and the price show 1250. We asked the waitress if we would pay this price she said yes. Then gave us a bill of 1800 per meal. I believe the price start from 1250 but it's not shown or even explained.
