Really nice place hidden in plain sight. We arrived at around 11:35, contrary to other people's experience here, there was no queue at all, when the place opened at 12, there was only 4 people including us.
It's a really cozy small omurice restaurant with only around 10 seats. The owner of the place was nice and friendly and manages everything by himself, which is quite impressive to say the least, and the 'lack of services'(which we didn experience at all) reported by other people cold be due to this as well.
The way ordering works is that you pick a rice base and portion size, then a topping(or multiple if you wish).
All rice bases come with stewed wagnyu in a rich sauce, and every customer also get a free cup of soup and a salad free of charge.
I had the cheese rice base and the fried food medley topping while my partner had the plain rice and the burger meat combo. The ingredients were fresh, the tangy stew combined with the egg was really enjoyable. The toppings are nice and tasty as well.
The portion sizes are quite large, I could barely finish the M size(the standard portion size) so if you are an average asian dude in his 30s you could consider cut down the portion size a level, saves you money too, SS(the smallest) is recommended for ladies.
Would come again if I get to visit Osaka...
Read moreAs many other reviewers have said here, his posted hours are incorrect and he doesn’t let people in line know they’re not going to get in before he closes for the day.
We traveled a pretty far distance just to try this (apparently incredible) omuraisu, arriving at 3pm to avoid the lunch rush. When we got there, at least 10 people were in line ahead of us and we waited nearly an hour with nobody coming in or out. That’s when I started perusing the 1-star reviews and realized the owner takes an undisclosed break at 3pm and usually closes up shop by 4-5pm.
With only 6-8 seats in the shop and 10 people ahead of us while the kitchen was on break, it was going to be impossible for us (and the people behind us) to get in. We likely would’ve been standing in line for 2 more hours before being turned away, and he wasn’t handing out tickets as I’ve seen other reviews say he does sometimes.
It sounds like the only way to get into this place is to show up before it opens and still wait in a substantial line, and that’s fine! But the respectful thing for the owner to do would be to put a sign on the door saying when he’s on break, and bring out a sign that says “sold out after this point” so everyone in line behind the sign knows they can safely leave and try again...
Read moreOwner needs to update their hours on Google and be more considerate of people’s time. Went here twice so far and it was closed both times. I understand that it’s a one man team. I understand if you run out of ingredients on a day but at least have the decent respect for your customers and reflect that on your hours. If you can’t sustain enough ingredients for a 12 hour shift or can’t hold the energy to be open for that long then don’t state that your establishment is open for 12 hours straight. It’s so simple yet you don’t reflect that on your business hours for whatever reason
It’s beyond ridiculous how inconsistent the opening hours are. It’s also completely rude towards the people who go out of the way to go to your shop only to...
