This is hands-down the best Indian restaurant I've been to in Japan and the United States. The food is very authentic and the atmosphere is great. Cricket or music videos on TV, current pop tracks from India playing in the background and cool staff make it a very enjoyable place. I went there twice within the first week of finding it and then scheduled my birthday party there. A private area in the back with a DJ booth and lots of sofas provides a real nice, comfortable experience.
The food is magnificent and the menu boosts a huge selection of items. As I love spicy food, I was pleased to find that there is no extra charge for increased spiciness. Also, surprisingly in Japan, with increased heat comes enhanced flavor. They do not compromise the taste by pouring in hot sauce; it's done the right way.
The prices are very reasonable considering the quality and serving sizes. I highly recommend Singh's Kitchen to anyone in Japan who wants to try authentic Indian food or to put an end to...
Read moreThe service is terrible. The owner is rude and kept scolding his staff for allowing us inside with a stroller. The communication is terrible as well. I asked to order food for takeout. He took the order over phone. When I came in to collect the order, he rudely asked me to step outside without telling me if I’m waiting to order my food or if he’s preparing the order I already made.
Food wise, the quality is ok at best. The Chana and rice were both partially cooked. The mixed vegetable curries were too oily. Noodles had excess salt and probably chaat masala in it which is weird!
There’s a lot of smell from the smoke coming in from the adjoining hookah bar. The place is not hygienic either.
It’s over priced for the food quality and antidotes atmosphere you get. Plus there’s a 5% surcharge for using credit cards.
Overall, I’d suggest skipping this...
Read moreA nice cosy indian restaurant in the heart of Osaka City. Easily reached from Namba Metro Station (5-7 mins) and just next to Kuramon Market. We went a few times for lunch and dinner. We had South Indian Thali Set for lunch on the first trip and we had vegetable curry, omelettes and basmathi rice on the second day. Both was very good. Sweet Lassi was great.
Mutton briyani was below average. Mutton was not cooked well.
For dinner we tried Naan Tikka Set. Naan, curry and salad was good. Chicken tikka very average.
Prices and portions was reasonable and the ambience was good. Service was ok.
The shop has a separate part for bar and also a indian spice mart selling various indian ingredients.
Good place to dine indian food...
