Cat Café Monta in Asakusa is such a lovely place to relax and spend time with cats. The atmosphere is cozy, clean, and very welcoming, with plenty of space to sit and enjoy watching or interacting with the cats. The staff were friendly, and everything was explained clearly when I arrived, including the pricing system.
The pricing is straightforward and transparent, with options for 60, 90, or 120 minutes, plus extensions if you want to stay longer. There are also day passes and special packs, which makes it flexible depending on how much time you want to spend. The only thing to note is that there are some terms and conditions that make it a little restricted compared to other cafés, but overall it’s well managed and easy to understand.
The cats themselves were adorable and very playful, especially if you order snacks for them. The moment I got cat treats, they all came running over, which was such a fun and heartwarming experience. Each cat had its own personality, and they seemed healthy, happy, and well cared for.
I also tried their mentai pasta from the café menu, and it was surprisingly delicious—definitely better than I expected from a themed café. It made the whole visit feel like more than just about the cats, but also a nice spot to enjoy a light meal or drink.
Overall, Cat Café Monta is a wonderful place to spend time in Asakusa. Affordable pricing, playful and well-cared-for cats, good food, and a relaxing atmosphere make it a must-visit for cat lovers and travelers looking for a unique...
Read moreMe and my friend that visited found the cats to be uninterested and not interested in interacting with visitors to the cafe. While they were very very cute, majority of the cats are of older age (I believe 12-14), and majority spend the time sleeping. There were toys which the cats had no interest interacting with. The drinks were also very expensive, so we didn’t get any so I cannot comment on the quality there. The cats were very affectionate towards the owner, and he was overall kind and friendly towards me and my friend. Some cats were not at all enthused by even being pet, which made the experience a bit awkward as that’s kind of what you’re there for. Eventually the cat sitting on the back of my chair warmed up to me, so the experience was overall enjoyable, however i would recommend finding another cat cafe if you want a more playful environment, rather than just being surrounded...
Read moreThe café is conveniently located near the bus and train station, making it easy to find. When I arrived on the 8th floor, the staff greeted me and explained the café rules. They handed me a menu album with pictures and information about each cat. Before entering the café and interacting with the cats, you must disinfect or clean your hands. 😊 The atmosphere is clean and cozy, the music is pleasant, and the food is delicious. I highly recommend this café, especially if you are visiting the Asakusa area and want to take a break from walking. You can sit and play with the cats to de-stress and relax for a while. Good service and the staff were nice. Please follow the cafe rules and be kind...
