🔒Tokyo · Ginza Food Secrets🔒 This post has got you covered 🍣 Eating at local-recommended spots is the right way to experience authentic cuisine in a foreign land~ Figure 2 shows the distribution map of these restaurants in Ginza, making it super convenient for a foodie tour~ 🌟🌟Zakuro (Figure 3) This place offers a traditional Japanese copper pot hot pot experience, with a nostalgic Showa era vibe. They have a variety of wagyu, and the steak literally melts in your mouth. The A5 beef has beautiful marbling, rich yet not greasy. The kimono-clad staff will help you cook each slice and serve it to your bowl, very thoughtful. Even the locals are raving about it. 📍Chuo-ku, Ginza 4-6-1 🌟🌟Fukuji (Figure 4) When in Japan, you must try fugu 🐡 This is a hidden gem among locals. They use wild fugu from the Bungo Channel, and the fugu jelly is Q-弹, the hot pot is tender, and the sashimi exudes the natural sweetness of the ingredient. One set course lets you taste multiple ways of enjoying fugu. Japanese cuisine is so distinctive because they focus on perfecting each ingredient! 📍Chuo-ku, Ginza 5-11-13, Koda Building 3F 🌟🌟Ginza Ukai-tei (Figure 5) Arguably the best teppanyaki in Japan. Make sure to sit in the main hall to watch the chefs in action, experiencing the true art of their cooking. The A5 beef cooked medium-rare is incredibly tender and juicy, melting in your mouth. The lobster soup is so fresh it could make your eyebrows fall off. Truffles are famous here, but they are seasonal, so check the timing. 📍Chuo-ku, Ginza 5-15-8, Jiji Tsushin Building 1F 🌟🌟Esquisse (Figure 6) Many may not know, but French cuisine is also highly renowned and quality in Japan. This place combines French techniques with seasonal Japanese ingredients, with each dish looking like a piece of art. The ambiance is quiet, frequented by well-dressed young Japanese. Reminds me of the scene in the Japanese drama "逃げるは恥だが役に立つ" where Aragaki Yui and Hoshino Gen enjoy a French meal, haha. 📍Chuo-ku, Ginza 5-4-6, 9th floor 🌟🌟Yakiniku Usigoro (Ginza Store) (Figure 7) A wagyu-focused yakiniku restaurant, with each cut of meat being exceptionally fine and high-quality. The portions are just right, any more and it might get overwhelming, but the melt-in-your-mouth experience is addictive. The staff will grill each slice and serve it to your plate, explaining each cut, making for a very hassle-free experience. The place is still bustling until 9:30 PM. 📍Chuo-ku, Ginza 1-6-6 🌟🌟Sukiyabashi Jiro (Figure 8) This is the restaurant of Japan's "Sushi God," Jiro Ono, capping off our list! A must-visit for locals. The timing of placing sushi in your mouth is precise to the second, including temperature control for different types of sushi. The skills honed over 60 years by the master are simply awe-inspiring. Only by eating at a local-recommended sushi place can you experience this level of craftsmanship. You can ask for a photo with the master after your meal. Make sure to check if you can get a reservation! 📍Chuo-ku, Ginza 4-2-15, Tsukamoto Building B1 This time, I've recommended 6 out of 12 Ginza food spots. Stay tuned for the next installment. Remember to make reservations! 💌Dianping Overseas has a special section for local-recommended restaurants~ #Tokyo #Ginza #Japan #JapanTravel #WhatToBuyInJapan #FoodieOnTheGo #IAmAChef #MySecretFoodSpots #MyFoodDiary #RecommendedJapaneseDramas #LocalsRecommend #Foodie #Foodie #MyFoodDiary #RecommendedJapaneseDramas #LocalsRecommend @Foodie

I will start with how welcoming and kind the Japanese staff were, as well as the beauty of the restaurant.

Unfortunately, our experience was marred by the very loud volume of other guests, specifically a larger table, we could not enjoy our romantic anniversary dinner. Multiple times, we had to ask staff for more tea or water. The chef came to say hello once and then seemed to focus on only one side of the restaurant, which was surprising.

While we’re happy to have dined here, it did not meet our expectations for a two star Michelin dining experience.

(Following this review on Pocket Concierge, the restaurant promptly reached out to acknowledge the feedback, shared that they reviewed it with staff, and offered us to reach out to the GM should we...

Certainly, this establishment is a dining experience that should not be missed during your next visit to Ginza. They provide a tasting menu that incorporates seasonal ingredients, accompanied by a selection of wines for pairing. The presentation of the dishes showcases the finest Japanese ingredients, and the flavors are skillfully orchestrated throughout the meal. The service provided is exemplary, befitting a fine dining establishment. The host and servers demonstrate utmost politeness and courtesy, inquiring about any allergies or dietary restrictions to ensure a tailored dining experience. The location and ambiance contribute to an exceptional dining experience. I highly recommend a visit to Esquisse during your next...
