I got there at 11:07 and was finished ordering at 11:09. I was early enough to get a table (not many left), but my wife and I both thought the table booth was quite narrow (the narrowest I have ever encountered), AND there is an outlet hidden under the table. How did I find it??? Easy because it is positioned sticking out of the table's post and I smashed my knee against it at least three times. My wife even hit it once. That was the only really negative aspect of my trip to the Shake Shack, except for paying through the nose...worth it only occasionally for me. There was a line when I arrived, but it moved quickly. An employee came out and asked if I would like an English menu, which I took and was ready by the time I got to the counter. I placed my order at 11:09 and got my food in less than 10 minutes, even though it became busier a little later. There was no line at 11:27, but then it became busier after that. If possible, I recommend getting there around 11:00. Even if there is a line, it will move quickly as all of the employees work well together and can process many people. There were three cash registers working when I was there, which is the maximum. I ate the Cheese Shackburger and I added bacon. My wife got a regular burger, which had nothing on it. My wife told me that the cashier asked if she wanted to add anything to it, but she declined. As a result, she got a beef patty between two buns, which is all she wanted. I tried this and it was ok for a REALLY basic burger. The meat was good and so were the buns. On the other hand, my burger came fully loaded, which included their Shack sauce (tasty), lettuce, tomato, cheese and the bacon I had ordered extra. This made a tasty burger! I'd give this burger four stars. I also ordered French fries and they were good enough, but nothing special. I have had a lot of fries with various seasonings (Arby's curly fries in America come to mind), and these were good but just with basic salt. Overall, it was a great experience without any difficulties. A woman, who ordered next to me and my Japanese wife, ordered completely as I would in America. The staff's English comprehension wouldn't be much of a concern here.

I recently visited the Shake Shack location in Shinjuku, Tokyo, and while it carries the same brand recognition as its other international outlets, my experience here didn’t live up to my expectations, especially compared to other locations, like Hong Kong. First, let’s talk about the burger itself. While Shake Shack is known for its premium burgers, the one I had here in Shinjuku felt quite underwhelming. The flavor was fine, but there was nothing special that justified the hefty price tag. When you pay a premium price for a fast-casual burger, you expect something more, and unfortunately, it didn’t deliver. I couldn’t help but feel that you’re essentially paying extra for the brand name rather than a truly standout burger experience. In comparison, I’ve had Shake Shack in Hong Kong, and the quality there seemed superior, especially when it comes to the taste and presentation of the food. For some reason, the Shinjuku location just doesn’t measure up to that standard. I’m not sure if it’s due to different sourcing of ingredients or preparation methods, but the difference was noticeable. On a positive note, the atmosphere at the Shinjuku Shake Shack is quite good. The location is modern, clean, and well-situated in a bustling part of the city. If you’re looking for a place to sit down and relax in Shinjuku while having a burger, this could be a good option. But if you’re there purely for the food, I would say it’s not really worth the price. Overall, Shake Shack Shinjuku offers a nice environment to dine in, but in terms of the burger itself, it feels like an overpriced meal that doesn’t quite live up to the hype—especially if you've experienced the same brand in other cities where the quality seems to be better.

One of the few Shake Shacks in Japan, this one is just two minutes walk from Shinjuku station. Follow the signs for Southern Terrace and you will find it at the furthest end away from the station. Once inside, note that as the restaurant is often busy, even at off-peak times you may have to wait to get seats. There is no denying that the burgers are more expensive than some other (large) chains, but the taste is well worth it. Their basic burger runs around 900 yen or so, with a variety of more expensive options. However the freshness of the beef and the quality of the ingredients made it worth it. Note that fries and side-menu items are sold separately. For a family of three (three burgers, a side of fries, without drinks) the cost was 30 USD. Seating is available outside. Toilets are not in the restaurant, but one floor down. Staff were friendly and professional. I'd definitely eat here again if pining for a good burger near Shinjuku station.

I ate at the restaurant once and also ordered by delivery once with wolt. For the restaurant it's very convenient because you order with self checkout machines available in multiple languages.

As for the time i ordered by delivery it arrived in a box well packaged, burgers well protected and most importantly they are neatly assembled and put together without mess. You can tell they follow a strict protocol because of the consistency of the quality between eating at the restaurant and delivery. Also great that they have in store prices for delivery otherwise would have not ordered.

As for the food, the burgers are excellent, they really know how to make great beef patties. Thing I didn't like is that on their shack burger the beef is too oily and greasy for my taste, it makes the burger very heavy. But maybe it's because i ordered a double. I recommend getting two different single burgers than one double. Their beef patty is already pretty roch and tasty so one is the perfect balance.

Their fries also lacked salt and tasted pretty plain, they look cool but honestly i already forgot how they taste like, that's how you know there's nothing special about them. Their fries are overpriced. A small portion of fries shouldn't cost more than half the price of a shack burger... It's a obvious upsell i ordered fries once will never order again. Will definitely order...
