Contrary to the other review, this place actually does serve other things but they are known for their amazing pancakes.

My first morning I didn’t realise the pancakes are only from 9-9.10am (yeah - 10mins!) so I didn’t get them. Instead I got ‘French toast’ which is very different from normal French toast and SO MUCH BETTER. It was delicious and the butter had caramelised. It was filled with a sweet red bean filling but not too much. God.

The next morning I was ready though - I was going to get my pancakes. I went at 8.45am to start queuing and already a few people were in line. They let you in at 9am and will sit everyone so all the chairs are filled (so if you’re solo you will sit at the same table as someone else). During this 10min slot they only serve pancakes.

Nestled near Ueno, Usagi-ya Cafe is a hidden gem that exudes warmth and coziness. On my recent visit, I was delighted by their incredibly fresh and tasty dorayaki. Although I had heard rave reviews about their pancakes, I unfortunately arrived a bit late and missed out—they sell out quickly, and it's recommended to arrive before 9 am to snag some. The staff at Usagi-ya are exceptionally friendly and honest. In an unexpected turn of events, I left my wallet with money, cards, and documents at the cafe. When I returned over two hours later, the staff had kept it safe and returned it to me without hesitation. They graciously refused any tip, so I expressed my gratitude by purchasing some tea instead. The perfect place for Japanese red bean lover. Usagi-Ya is cafe and bakery serving the famous menu of Dorayaki with the signature red bean paste, they have two store the cafe and bakery which serving completely different thing. The cafe side mainly serve Ice Cream, Kakigori and the signature menu of red bean crepe, but I ordered something else. The Kakigori with the red bean paste and bottom were filled with red bean, it very good dessert to helping release the heat with the signature red bean it mixing with ice, not too sweet but very tasty. Recommended must be the Red bean Ice Cream, it look very simple but this is the most delicious red bean ice cream I ever try.
