Yottekiya Shinjuku — Restaurant in Tokyo

This izakaya is simply amazing! Please read through this review and let yourself be persuaded to visit! Our friends from Tokyo took us here to show us a locals’ favorite spot, and saying that it didn’t disappoint would be a huge understatement. The place is pretty big, yet has a very cozy atmosphere. It is a nice place for a couple’s date as well as for a group hangout, since it has many tables of various sizes and private rooms for bigger groups. All the seatings are layed out comfortably so that you can enjoy privacy, no matter who and how many you are with. The service is incredibly kind and very willing to help you out and deliver the nicest experience! The food is beyond outstanding! I personally am a big fish enjoyer, and I cannot say that I remember ever eating better sashimi than here, and that is by far! On this, all of my friends, whether local or foreign, could all agree. We heard that the owner used to be a fisherman himself, and therefore personally puts effort into carefully picking the best fresh fish from the market. You can see the picture for reference. Another favorite of ours was the fried octopus, which tastes even better than anyone would expect, and is therefore a very memorable dish. The prices are not only better than reasonable, but the portions are so substantial that it might get difficult to finish. (Do not be fooled by the price range indicated by me, because we really ate a lot! - Great value for money) The eating is made even more enjoyable by their large and delicious selection of fine drinks. Their offer includes for insatnce many original kinds of highball(yuzu, peach, ginger, even Ramune!), and also delicous japanese sake, including some seasonals, which are not available under normal circumstances. We were a group of 7 and were seated in a private room where we could enjoy nice conversations in a wonderful atmosphere over delicious food and drinks for hours and felt very welcome to do just that. 2023年5月 久しぶりに行ったら味がだいぶ改善してました！ただ、混み始めたので、12時過ぎなどの中途半端な時間に行くと満席です。それより前か入れ替え時を狙うといいかも。遅い時間帯になるとドリンクの種類が少なくなるのでオオスメしません。あと、ドリンクバーの陳列は無記名なので飲んでみるまでわかりません。色で判断。

2022年12月 最近、味付けが迷子… オープン当時と比べると本当に不味くなったと思う。他の客が不味い不味い言いながら食べてて引いたけど、その気持ちわからなくもない…(流石にその場では言わないけど)

2022年11月 ランチやってないっぽい←改装中でした。

2022年10月 ドリンクの補充と看板改善されていました。★下げた分戻します。 最近出てくるメニュー内だと鶏もものから揚げが美味しいです。 一番好きだったメニューは消えた。

2022年8月 オレンジジュースも海老も無くなったし、相変わらず会計後しかメニューわからないのでので★下げます。

あと、13時過ぎると無くなるメニューが出てくる。こないだは13時半でメニューの中で3、4つ無し。補充が遅いのかされてるのかされてないのかはわからない。 800円で中身のわからない最近の劣化ガチャ引くくらいなら＋100円で好きなところ行った方がぶっちゃけ良い。前のメニューなら行く価値ある。平日昼、新宿東南口付近で座って煙草、ついでになんでもいいから飯…くらいならコスパはいいです。

追々記 2022年4月

味噌汁の件、次行った時は普通だったので、あの時はたまたまハズレた様です。具が傷んでいたのかな？ ランチポイントカードがあるみたいです。提示で-50円。 オススメは胡麻団子(安定)、エビチリ(あまり出ないかも6回前後訪問して2回遭遇)、鶏唐揚げ(鶏肉系は割と何でも美味い)、オレンジジュース(果汁100％ぽくて濃くて良い) 海老料理は1品何かしら出ていますが、殻のないエビチリが個人的に一番美味しい。 色々落ち着いたら夜も行ってみたいです。(10％の奉仕料がなければ)

やっぱり、日替わりメニューは店の外に欲しい･･･｡

Portion: we ordered a combo for 2, plus a rice dish, cool dish combo and salad. We headed to the second dinner right after. It's just very little meat.

Price: seems cheaper but per portion is much more expensive

Quality: I won't have any complaints if the food is reasonable. I wasn't able to chew one out of the 9 pieces from the combo which stated to be the best quality. I had to spit it out. This never happened to me with wagyu...
