The moment we stepped into the cafe/restaurant (I don't know how to categorize it and you will see why), it was "you do as you wish". We found a table, sat down and didn't know what to do. Two service staff were standing around but had to be gestured to bring us the menus. The restaurant was not too busy but yet they failed to recognise that customers had come in and were looking around to be assisted.
Ordering was to be done at the counter but there was noone at the cashier. Staff at the counter also failed to notice that I was standing there waiting together with another customer behind me. I tried hard to make eye contact with one of the staff and when I finally did, he came over and attempted to take my order. To sum up, i was asked "dine in or takeaway" twice, i was told to wait 4 times for them to check if an item (that they were aggresively promoting) was available, my order was not taken correctly, the customer behind me had left in frustration.
Food quality, portion and presentation: I felt cheated when my pasta arrived. The portion was considered small and presentation bad if you take into consideration the price of it. One good thing was, the quality of food was decent.
Staff there is clearly under-trained. You really can't blame them for being so clueless (not even knowing what Tabasco Sauce was when there was a bottle right in front of her at the counter), I can only say that the management of this place...
Read moreDuring my visit to Gaya Street morning market, I chanced upon this coffee house and decided to have breakfast there. It was 8 am, and I was the first customer. However, right from the moment I stepped in, I felt something was amiss. None of the three staff members at the counter greeted me or offered the menu. Despite assuming they were busy with the early opening, I couldn't help but feel uncomfortable with their lack of friendliness.
As I waited for my order, I noticed that none of the staff members were smiling, and the overall atmosphere seemed rather unwelcoming. When my grilled salmon big breakfast and hot cappuccino arrived, I opted to take my own plate and glass to the upper floor as I was not eager for further interaction with the unfriendly staff downstairs.
The breakfast itself was decent but not outstanding. The small sausages felt unnecessary, and the salads lacked freshness. The environment on the upper floor, however, was a stark contrast â cozy, comfortable, and beautifully decorated with pleasant music playing.
As I prepared to leave, I observed the staff warmly greeting other arriving customers, which made me wonder why I had been treated differently.
In conclusion, while I don't expect to be treated like royalty, I believe it's crucial for any business to provide good customer service and make all patrons feel welcome. A little kindness and friendliness go a long way in creating a positive...
Read moreVery bad experience at Dailycoffee Gaya Street! There are attitude of the employees very bad. All of them are just perfunctory attitudes. Is the boss not paid? I ordered the mushroom pie and sausage pie and waited for more than 20 minutes to re heat, but it was cold when I arrived. The food is also very poor, and the crust is not cooked thoroughly, just an uncooked flour. I ordered a cup of passion fruit lemonade and a pot of fruit tea, and waited for more than half an hour, the point was that there were not much customers in the store. The workers' attitude is just lazy. I went to the counter complaint. Time to send the cup of lemonade to me the ice cubes also melted. It turned out that the glass of water that had been on the counter was ours, and no one border and send it for more than half an hour. Fruit tea is even more ridiculous. It takes about 45 minutes to come, and there is no hot stove. I saw others table that there were hot stoves for the pot of fruit tea, I walked to the counter to ask, which was equivalent to talking to the air and completely ignoring it. The attitude of these employees was too bad. It is when customers are transparent and they complete ignore them. If you are self service, please indicate and do not charge service tax. Poor food and poor service. No next time! Took pictures of the pie and the fruit tea but...
