Mee & Cake House — Restaurant in Borneo

Mee & Cake House is apparently a well-established name in Kota Kinabalu among individuals and companies that had been using this F&B outlet's catering services for their events and functions. Their reputation is built around good quality food and services. Another factor is probably their pricing, AFFORDABILITY. It seems that Mee & Cake House is one of the most affordable caterer for your events such as company's lunch, wedding reception, birthday party, etc.

I have the opportunity to order our Chinese New Year Opening Lunch from them recently. Among some of the items which I have come across and eaten, below is a recommended list of items you might want to try out for your next event. CUSTARD TART - Probably the best (for me anyway). It looks like mini egg tart but it's not. This tiny western pastry is just nice for a bite without being too mouthful. Highly recommended. Cheebapan - This powdered, little white ball has a rich peanut paste inside. If you like peanuts, you surely want to give it a try. CHICKEN PIE - It comes in a tiny one bite size, as opposed to its bigger version sold in the shop. The inside boasts a rich combination of diced chicken, onion, and mushroom. Another tasty item. There are other great menu items which will make your catering a pleasant one, such as fried meehoon, chicken wing, popiah, beef rendang, curry chicken, etc.

Worth mentioning is Mee & Cake House was founded by a lady. Recently, a couple has surfaced as the owners of the establishment as well. Looks like the couple is learning to operate the business and will probably take over the business one day.

This is a hidden gem in Wisma Merdeka and it's located at Level 6 where it is next to few other Cafes.

I went during lunch hour, and it's packed. They have about 9 tables which can fit up to 4 pax. They have few more along the corridor.

People love the place for it's quiet and homely environment, plus with very friendly staffs and boss too.

Among their popular dishes would be Kuching Laksa, Assam Laksa, Ngau Chap, there Nasi campur with side dishes to choose from. They also serve homemade kuih muih.

Many varieties of economic food to choose like fried meehoon, fried rice & noodles & also Yong tofu. There is a beef noodle shop too. Many varieties of mini fried stuff too like banana fritters & you cha kueh.
