Mother India Authentic North Indian Restaurant is a popular dining establishment that operates during lunch and dinner hours. While the restaurant offers a world-class ambience and breathtaking sunset views, the overall dining experience falls short in terms of food quality and flavor.

One of the major drawbacks of Mother India is the blandness of their dishes. Despite claiming to serve authentic North Indian cuisine, the food lacks the robust and vibrant flavors that are typically associated with Indian cuisine. This deficiency in taste may leave diners disappointed, especially those with a preference for rich and spicy flavors.

However, the restaurant does have its strengths. The world-class ambience creates a pleasant and inviting atmosphere for guests. The scenic views, particularly during sunset, provide an added aesthetic appeal to the dining experience. These elements contribute to an enjoyable and memorable setting for patrons.

When it comes to the food and drinks, they are relatively standard. The menu offers a variety of familiar Indian dishes, but they do not stand out in terms of quality or creativity. It is worth noting that the review mentions the possibility of someone with minimal knowledge of Indian cuisine being able to replicate the dishes using online resources like YouTube. This suggests that the culinary expertise and uniqueness of the restaurant's offerings may be lacking.

In conclusion, Mother India Authentic North Indian Restaurant may attract customers with its world-class ambience and stunning sunset views, but falls short in terms of food quality and flavor. While some patrons may have enjoyed their experience at the restaurant, it is plausible that their taste buds were not accustomed to authentic Indian cuisine or they had lower expectations. For those seeking a truly exceptional Indian culinary experience, it may be advisable to explore other dining options that specialize in delivering the genuine flavors and traditional recipes of North...

I normally don't leave reviews but the very mixed experience I had dining here last night is still with me. I spent quite some time researching a nice spot with vegetarian options and was in a very positive mood coming to Mother of India at sunset. The (not-so-gentle)man who came to serve me seemed bothered by my presence. Perhaps I was a bit too cheerful? I gave him the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps he was having a bad day, personal issues, who knows. I tried to joke with him a bit but every exchange was met with one-word answers and zero warmth. Now I was starting to feel like he just didn't like people, or perhaps tourists, even polite ones. I don't like to assume, however, and decided not to let him bother me. The food, on the other hand, was excellent (mango lassi, papadams with mint sauce, chana masala, hot and plentiful garlic naan). I finished this delicious meal and went to pay. I didn't see a restroom sign in the restaurant and said to him that I guess they were in the mall that the restaurant is in. To my shock, he treated me like a pest he wanted to shoo out the door, saying very rudely "Yeah yeah, go" and motioned to the back door with his chin. Now this was too much. It was a truly degrading feeling that erased what would have been a lovely dining experience. I have yet to meet a ruder person in all of Borneo. If you're having a bad time and have to come to work, please try to see the light in people. And if you don't like people, please don't work in the service industry, as your contempt surely...

I recently dined at this restaurant while booked through Adora Travel Agency, and I want to share my experience, particularly regarding their pricing practices.

The food itself was nice, with a decent selection of vegetarian options. However, I was disappointed by how the restaurant handled our order. We specifically ordered a vegetarian platter, which was advertised at RM 70 per person. To our surprise, we received a platter meant for three people, leading to an unexpected total charge of RM 210.

When we asked the staff about this pricing, they explained that the agency instructed them to charge us for three people. The issue here is that we were never informed of this arrangement in advance. As customers, we expect transparency regarding pricing, and it’s crucial for restaurant staff to clearly communicate any charges prior to finalizing a bill.

This experience left us feeling misled and taken advantage of. It’s important for establishments to prioritize clear communication to avoid such misunderstandings, especially when working with travel agencies. I would advise others to think twice before dining at this restaurant under the Adora Travel Agency, as the lack of transparency raises concerns about their practices.

I hope this feedback encourages better communication and customer service...

Situated at a secluded shopping mall in Oceanus KK, stumbled upon this place while searching for a decent place to dine due to heavy rain occurs. To my surprise, the food were packed with flavour especially for the Chicken Tikka Masala, slightly buttery and with a mild hint of spice kick, definitely goes well with the rice/naan served. Garlic naan was good too and it pairs well with the mint sauce that came with the papadum. Jeera rice was quite on the plain side though loaded with cumin seeds and flavoured with ghee. However, the taste heightened with those gravy dishes. For panipuri, not much of a wow factor, but it was a great experience to diy on its own. Onion bhaji offered as a great snack btw. The price of the food overall can be higher, but the taste and portion do make it worth. Plus it's an air-conditioned place as well.

The food was incredible!!! We had the chicken korma and the chicken jalfrezi, with the mixed bread plate (naans, pratha and roti). We eat Indian food a lot and I usually like it spicy. This time I had the korma and it was soooo nice! The jalfrezi which my GF had was also really good!!! Though not spicy at all. All the breads were fantastic! So was the papadum with mint/yoghurt dip. Mango lassi was also nice! The service was great and fast! Really nice people. The atmosphere was also good. Definitely one of the (out of many) coziest/nicest Indian restaurants I've been to. Which is quite a lot. Definitely 5 stars all the way! Not cheap though, but worth it.

We were a group of 4, came for dinner here on a Saturday at 6pm. The food tasted good, generally on the slightly sweeter side. The wait staff is friendly and attentive. Business is quite good, considering its location in the Oceanus Waterfront Mall that is quite dead. Price is as expected for North Indian cuisine in Sabah. We ordered a Nargisi Malai Kofta Curry, Butter Chicken, Jeera Rice, Butter Naan, Pani Puri, Gulab Jamun, Jaljeera, Mango Lassi, and Pistachio Kulfi. Bill is attached so you can see the prices for yourself. We enjoyed our dinner, though we will more probably reserve it for special occasions. Highly recommended.
