I visited Xian Yang Lao Steamboat today, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. The environment is simple yet inviting, with the air conditioning set at the perfect temperature—crucial for a comfortable steamboat experience.

Upon being seated, the friendly staff immediately made us feel welcome by introducing us to the popular items on the menu, especially considering it was our first visit. Their warm hospitality made us feel right at home.

Now, let's talk about the food. We opted for the Lala Hotpot, and it was nothing short of spectacular. The staff had all the ingredients ready and cooked the Lala Clams on the spot for us. Easily one of the best seafood steamboat and hotpot places to dine in Penang. Uniquely concocted hotpot broth seasoned with wine and fragrant herbs and julienned ginger. The main seafood ingredients are tip top FRESH. Enjoy a 'staged' progression of the meal from the first round classic sea clams (lala) soup, to mid stage seafood steamboat galore, and finally to the crab and seafood broth porridge finale...all cooked with the main hotpot claypot set up from the get go. Prawns were super fresh and juicy, and the mud crabs were loaded with orange roe. This joint features a free flow sauce and condiments bar on the side, and serves up the best and most refreshing iced ambra plum juice. They also offer iced hawthorn berry juice, which should be equally good. Excellent and courteous service all around.
