We were looking specifically for a claypot chicken place. Saw this on Google maps, unfortunately should have read the rest of the reviews.
The food itself was quite decent, flavour wise. However the portion sizes were a bit questionable. If you think about the amount of food per plate it actually doesn't make sense to eat here.
Each plate was about 8 to 10 ringgit, but the amount of food there was less than half of what you would get at another restaurant. We ended up having to order 7 dishes.
On top of that they also don't have any water available. I was asking specifically for bottled water to which they said no. I asked if they had any coke, and they said they only had Fanta. They had no other drinks... So we were forced to buy an overpriced bucket of tiger that we did not even want. Sad.
But the most annoying part of dining here was that their prices listed on the menu are not what you will pay at the end. Any good restaurant would not even have a separate price for the tax. Whatever is on the menu is what you pay. Any normal self-respecting restaurant would clearly state that the prices don't include taxes.
Not so in this situation period they charged an extra 20% on top of the menu prices. Cheaters , very close to scamming people.
Sure enough, the lady at the cashier station told me that they had a note that their food still did not have taxes included... It was written in extra small font at the very bottom of the menu, printed in white colour font on red background.
Unless you were looking for it, you would not see it. I don't want to go to a restaurant always with the idea that I have to be a lawyer looking at fine print.
This is a ridiculous system and whoever came up with this should get kicked off the island. This is borderline scamming.
I only recommend this place if you are looking to get inauthentic Chinese food and then have to pay more for what you can otherwise get cheaper and better at...
Read moreThe food is pretty good, with even weird options like grilled bugs possible on the menu. As a connoisseur of weird foods, they tasted fantastic. Free sauce, decent variety of hotpot ingredients, large variety of grilled options, and amazing mala soup, it's pretty good for a decently priced eat. Though obviously, the atmosphere is unbeatable. Old air con exhausts, electric metre on walls simulating an apartment complex, a whole electrical post with fake wires, and even a small arcade machine that has retro video games, this is absolutely a stunning place to eat. Service was however so-so. Quiet slow on the water refill, and everyone looked like they would rather be somewhere else. Though i did go at late hours so that might have affected it, so its unfair to rate it any lower. Overall though, i enjoyed myself quite a bit.
I also love beating my friends senseless in marvel vs capcom on the arcade machine,...
Read moreNeed more training on staff’s skill and attitude* Overall service is below standard, waiter & waitress will pretend not to see when I raised my hand and try to ask for help, no one is taking the initiative to help the customer on food order, I placed remark on my order list but no one come to me and inform that they not able to fulfill my request until the food served, and the food was served late, but other customers who ordered later than us were already get the food, need to be improve on the poor management. The food taste is nice, but sometimes you will get your food served is cool, depend on your luck. Although I have went for few times, but based on the recent experience I don't think I'll be coming back any time soon as the service provided is become worse and worse compare to my...
