Very nice Japanese restaurant. Excellent ambiance. Good service. Food is also good if not memorable. Cash, credit cards and e-wallet payments accepted.
Tucked away on the rear side of a Holiday Inn Express building, this is a beautiful little restaurant offering spacious tables as well as private party dining in a series of rooms closed off Japanese-style.
Their menu is extensive and offers plenty of options for sushi, sashimi, salads, tempura and other traditional Japanese favorites. I ordered their Chiriashi bowl which came beautifully presented. An array of salmon, tuna, various whitefish as well as some thinly sliced octopus. The fish was rather bland tasting and a bit limp - the slices were very thin which probably contributed to the limpness. The bed of sushi rice underneath was very flavorful and not excessive. Served with a side of miso soup and some other things I couldn't identify but which might have been a version of tamagoyaki with a flavorful, tangy sauce. The miso soup was very robust, filled with bits of tofu and a generous amount of seaweed.
The meal includes a small portion of ice cream. A variety of traditional flavors available but I opted for the wasabi ice cream. It was surprisingly delicious - a hint of sweetness but definitely still the taste of wasabi. In fact, the ice cream packed more of the wasabi nasal punch than the regular wasabi with the sashimi did! Served with a dollop of sweet red beans on top it was a great conclusion to the meal.
Service can be a bit slow but otherwise everything here was nice. Prices were...
Read moreGood place to find unusual items like akadashi and kuzukiri. I came because it was highly recommended by my mother's friend, and the menu was interesting. Overall, the food was good, but not impressive. I ordered the Bento (Kiri), which came with sashimi, chirashi, sawara fish grilled with miso, prawn tempura, wagyu and leek soup, chawan mushi, salad with wafu dressing, miso soup and an egg roll with mentaiko appetizer. The chirashi had pickled ginger mixed into the rice, which is a fine idea, but overdone (I could barely taste the fish over the ginger). The sawara was dry and not very tasty. A hint of mitsuba would have made the wagyu and leek soup perfect. Everything else was good. They're also quite flexible and accommodating of special requests. The highlight was the desserts though. The wasabi ice cream, sesame ice cream and kuzukiri...
Read moreWas here for friendâs birthday celebration, this time in a room with the name of âBotan - çĄä¸šâ. Sashimi is really fresh and they are being generous on the sashimi. Very thick cuts. Sashimi lovers would go crazy having sashimi here. However, serving is kinda slow in this restaurant. If youâre not in a rush, this would be a good choice. I ordered a set dinner which costs RM86++ which consist of a mini chirashi don, few pieces of premium sashimi, a mini bowl of steamed beef, chawanmushi & salad dressing. Other friends ordered a few signature dishes too, all is good. Would recommend this place and will...
