Updated with reply to the shop: First of all, I never compared your chicken rice to other places or Chinese chicken rice, so don’t go with that assumption. If it’s bland for me, then it is bland, not because it is less flavoured than others. You make it sound so funny 😄. Secondly, I highly doubted that the staff washed his hands before moving to the noodles. If you want to investigate that, please go ahead, don’t just make a statement that he washed his hands and then rinsed the noodles. Whether it is correct or not to wear gloves washing dishes in 1 sink, and rinsing noodles in the next sink with bare hands, that’s not my problem to solve. I believe you should know it better, since you are running the business 🙂. Lastly, it is not my duty to go through the outlet’s manager before sharing my observation and comment on what actually happened. I believe customer service exists for a reason, and it seems that you are not very well experienced with dealing with unpleased customers. Thanks to your feedback, I’ll be glad to share my experience with my friends and will never visit Salad Atelier any time soon. ————————— I felt so DIGUSTED and SORRY for those who ordered spaghetti from this shop! There were 3 people behind the counter: 1 cashier, 1 preparing food and 1 washing dishes. While sitting and waiting for my food, I simply watched the guy washing used bowls in the sink. I don’t think he washed his hands afterwards, then he rinsed the used strainer, and poured boiling just cooked noodles into the strainer, and started stirring the noodles under running water for 2 minutes, with no gloves. The other guy who was preparing food, picking food into bowls without wearing any gloves throughout the whole time. Bowls were then put into microwave (to heat up?!), which was located next to the wet dirty sink. Why do you arrange the equipments in that way: microwave - sink - kitchen too and rice cooker? And no hygiene or food safety practice at all? Btw, the chicken was good and tasted fresh. But overall the chicken rice was quite bland, and nothing could have saved my appetite after seeing all of the ‘actions’.

My first visit here yesterday (10 Dec 2024). Probably will be my last too. I ordered The MK Bowl because the picture on the menu showed avocado slices and cherry tomatoes (which I like). When my meal came, there were no avocado and cherry tomato in sight. I thought it was under the layers of vegetables, but after digging in, these ingredients were clearly missing. I went to the counter to ask and was casually told that there was no more avocado and they had replaced it with a few pieces of brocolli. Apa ni? This was totally not cool. Why would they have not informed me BEFORE I placed the order? The cashier was just beside the salad bar, and there was no crowd, nor were they busy. Also, from the start to finish of our meal, we observed there were plenty of empty seats with tables of half-eaten/finished food trays that were not cleared. This was after 8PM and not even peak hours.

i’m a foreigner and it’s my first time here! portions were generous and tasty but wanted to specially commend the female staff in glasses on 23 sep evening. she was very transparent about the fact that they were running out of prawns so the portion she could give me was smaller than normal and gave me some options on what i could replace it with. scrambled eggs also ran out as she was preparing so she replaced it with a boiled egg (which i don’t like that much) so i asked if it could be replaced with sous vide egg instead and she was happy accommodate to my request! note that you need to grab a buzzer and it’s not instant like a lot of salad lines! they also seem to get delivery orders so there may be a wait but it wasn’t bad at all~

Absolutely shocking experience. I wish I had read these reviews beforehand.

  1. Ordering food - It took 4 people to figure out how to place our order. After stating our order, the male member of staff started circuling the items I asked for directly on the menu followed by a failed attempt at finding these said circled items, as he flicked frustratingly by each page before then asking me again to repeat the order. Subsequently two other girls came to assist and struggle to find the items on their monitor before another member of staff came to help while repeatedly asking me what my order was.

  2. The food. We ordered 1 tuna poke bowl, 1 kimchi burger, a side kale salad and a mango avocado smoothie.

We could see the staff frantically running up and down the counters reading from a laminate board with instructions. Clearly these were newbies.

The poke bowl was up first, it looked nothing like the picture and had two pieces of brown avocado with the old seed and brown bits all over it. We requested fresh avocado (as expected). Eventually we received the poke bowl back but with two tiny pieces of avocado not the half big portion as advertised.

The kimchi burger. I knew this was doomed when I saw them whip out the burger and bread from a freezer and stuff it in the microwave. It arrived frozen in the middle and the burger was rock solid, so much so that I could probably knock out a set of bowling pins.

We were devastated and ended up having to leave our food and requested a refund.

A member of staff apologised as he said everyone was new however this company should not have untrained staff in the first place. It sets these newbies up for failure!

On a positive note, the smoothie was delicious - so perhaps stick to the drinks...
