Aha! Another new entrant into our local F& B scene. Location is along 4th Cross Street or Lorong Hang Lekiu. A colorful place.
Parking is ....well its in the jonker area. Need I say more? As usual its accessible by foot if you are in any of the nearby parking lots or if its a weekday then you might find a spot nearby and your parking woes might be better. Lunch time parking is easier as is my experience. But within the restaurant itself, its a haven for youthful service that is both fast and friendly. Kudos to the management on that!
It was a friendly respite away from the hot afternoon sun when i was there after lunch elsewhere. Their cocktails were very welcomed i can assure you.
Do give it a shot♡ Not sure how to reply to the request for further info from owner , so i will edit the reply in: *The 3 stars was because of the broken table that was ( supposedly) used as a barrier that same night i came back with family. Since it was full, we sat outside on a table but due to its size decided to reach out and utilise the ...(what seemed to be) available table beside us. Only when we tried to call manager to help us out were we informed it was a broken table.....tragedy averted!
Also, while we at it...and this is nit picking...i admit.....the lamb meat was dry and the type of meat cut can be improved....plus the prawns we had were way too small... though the sauce was good.
All in all ...that said..having dinner there was a good experience which we...
Read moreIn desperate search of yummy vegetarian food, we stumbled upon Mamasita on a hot afternoon in Malacca.
Location and Ambience: It is located in the jonker street area in a (sort of) quite lane. The ambience is as colorful as it can get. The service was amazing.
Service: The staff was veryyy sweet and helpful. We went during lunch time so it wasn't as crowded as it is probably at night but I must mention that the food preparation was quick.
Beverages: Loved their cold coffee so so much. Had been a while since I had such a nice coffee. Their hot peach tea will instantly refresh you if you've been walking around the town like we were.
Food: We ordered a vegetarian burrito from their menu which was simply amazing. They also cut it in 3 pieces instead of 2, since 3 of us came to dine-in. We also tried their veggie pizza (and requested it to be served without mushrooms). They catered to our request and even gave us some pumpkin on the side.
Bonus Info: The restaurant also has 2 clean washrooms that can be accessed by the customers. The bar looked amazing but we didn't try any cocktails.
{There's a shop called A&L Collection near this restaurant which sells traditional Chinese clothes, many of which are hand embroidered or hand-made (pure cotton). The owner is very sweet. Check it out of you're...
Read moreWe only planned to gorge on Asian food on this latest visit to Malacca, particularly Nyonya food, but this restaurant’s catchy sign caught our eye while exploring Jonker Walk. We checked out the online reviews and decided it sounded promising and worth checking out for dinner.
Firstly, reservations. Super easy as it just took a quick WhatsApp call.
Next, accessibility. It’s right at Jonker Walk so it’s all roadside parking. We usually prefer walking from the hotel as parking is a challenge during peak periods.
Atmosphere is great! I’ve not been to Mexico so I wouldn’t know about authenticity, but there’s catchy Mexican music and eye-pleasing Mexican decor. It was raining when we arrived and our clothes were wet, so we were glad that the restaurant wasn’t freezing cold. Temperature seemed just about right.
Thumbs-up for the wonderful service staff too. They were welcoming, friendly and attentive. They even asked for feedback after our meal about the food and service, and asked if there were any shortcomings that they could work on.
Now the food. I guess I can let the photos speak for themselves. Let’s just say the food and drinks taste as good as they look 👍🏻👍🏻
Update: Visited again on 16 November...
