Wow! I was only in Malacca for 3 nights and I was here every day - What amazingly welcoming and lovely people Jason and Sam are.
Being 19 and solo travelling in Malaysia for the first time, I was a little trepidatious while getting off the bus in Malaka for the first time, but this did not last long as I met sam through a mutual friend, and she invited me to see her and Jason’s café!
From here I was encouraged to request tracks, put on some recordes and enjoyed chatting about music from my home country (England).
Jason gave some great advice about the local area and things to see and even brought me some local, traditional deserts to try! (See the pic attached 🍰)
Their place is very well situated, just a stones though from Jonker Street where the market is held. This means it attracts a great mix of locals and tourists alike, coming together to share their stories / culture and drink a few beers. What an amazing atmosphere they manage to create, I would recommend it as a must see for anyone travelling though.
Thank you for an experience that I’m sure I’ll still be recounting for decades to come; sharing your friends and your culture with such a young person has a huge impact and one I won’t soon forget.

Read moreWe accidently stumbled in on sunday afternoon for A cup of Coffee. Coffee was very good and Jason was the best host possible, friendly, kind, open and we were having a good conversation over the Coffee.
It was only our second day in Malacca and we didnt have a plan for our third day but wanted to get a bit out of the centre and see the more "real Malacca". Jason told us his uncle does tours and we made an enquiry for the next day and deciced that we wanted to do the tour. We deciced to have breakfast there as well.
Day comes we are greeted by Jason again who remembered how i like my Coffee and serves us another good Coffee and a very full local breakfast (rendang with Rice, Fried egg and vegetables) which was to die for! We also got to try the satay sauce which was very good as well.
We would do the tour with his uncle but he also joined! We had a peak at the vinyl collection and then headed out. Tour was supposed to last 2 to 3 hours but ended up being 4,5 hours and insanely extensive. His uncle really knows the city and even took us to Bukit China. So good to see the city through the eyes of A local!
6/5 🌟 review! Amazing people and i hope others decide to come and enjoy their...
Read moreThis is such a special little find. Got recommended it by someone I met on the bus to Malacca, and it was only by luck that I was walking past while she was sat in there and called me in. I’m so glad she did. Run by brother and sister team, lunch at Limau Limau felt like being sat in your best friends kitchen while they cooked for you. The food was freshly prepared in front of you and everything is spotlessly clean. Also Samantha chatted to us like we were old friends as she cooked, explaining the ingredients and flavours. She’ll also cook everything to your taste, going above and beyond for those of us that have intolerances or allergies, you just have to let her know! Jason then took us upstairs to his vinyl room and played us some music and showed those of is that were too young for vinyl first time round how to use the record player. It’s encounters like this that make travelling worthwhile, when you met people so warm and friendly, who welcome you in to their lives and culture for that brief moment you’re together that you part as if you’ve known them forever. And the food is great. Would recommend this place to everyone and if I’m ever back in Malacca this will definitely be...
