I don't get the hype here, ordered a lavender croissant and Ruby flat. First of all, taste wise, I don't think they worth the penny that I paid, ngl they look pretty instagrammable but didn't taste that good. The croissant is not even flaky and both taste quite sweet as well.
Second of all, the service is what triggered me to give the low rating. I ordered the pastries that were ALREADY at the pantry area and paid at the counter. I was going to bring it to the table myself as I only ordered the pre-made pastries but since the staff told me that they will bring it over, so I went to my table and wait. The place is not big and we also spent some time to find seat as a lot of the tables were not being cleaned yet. Watching several staff walked here and there and kept going into the staff room/store room for quite some time, I started wondering when would my pastries would arrived and what take them so long to clean out the tables. As I didn't order any drinks and the pastries were pre-made as I have said, it wouldn't take that long even if they want to preheat it, and there was no new customers by that time. I went to the counter and noticed my plate of pastries was placed at the countertop for quite some time. After I asked and again the staff told me to wait at my seat. The food finally came, and we asked if the staff can clean out the table and plates from previous customer as the table was quite small to fit all the plates. The staff nodded and went away. And of course, the staff didn't come after that cos they seems to be so busy to go into the staff room and walking here and there.
Definitely not worth the 10%...

I donât care how hyped up The Butter Cafe is â if your staff canât treat an elderly woman with basic decency, youâve already failed at more than just hospitality.
My mother, a senior citizen who was simply exploring the city and looking to try something new, stepped into your cafe for a nice bite. Instead, she was met with what she described as a cold, judgmental stare from the person serving pastries â a look that made her feel like she didnât belong.
She struggled a bit while ordering, and rather than showing patience or kindness, the server was visibly irritated and dismissive. No assistance, no courtesy, just attitude. Her food took an unusually long time to arrive, and by the time it did, she felt so out of place and unwelcome that she rushed through her meal and left â humiliated.
This isnât just bad service. Itâs shameful. When your staff makes someoneâs mother feel small and excluded, especially someone older who deserves more kindness, not less â then no aesthetic, no fancy menu, and no Instagram buzz can make...
Read moreFound this little bakery cafĂ© called The Butter tucked away on Jalan Tukang Emas and its just a short walk from Jonker Street but way quieter. Itâs in a small alley, really charming and peaceful, and the vibes are just so nice. The place is super aesthetic too and definitely one of those spots u want to take photos for Instagram.
We went on a Sunday noon and it was packed, so no chance to sit down. That says something, rite? But we didnât leave empty-handed, we grabbed a takeaway box of six croissants, all different kinds.
And honestly? So good. The croissants were crispy on the outside, soft and buttery inside, with that perfect golden brown colour and smell that makes u stop for a second before biting in. Even after getting home, they still tasted fresh. My personal favourite was the classic butter one, simple but...
