If you’re around in Melaka Jonker street area and feel like eating nyonya food and others in your family don’t share the same passion. Well, you can come here at Melting Pot along Jalan Hang Jebat. We came for dinner on a Saturday night with all the camaraderie of the night market in full swing.
Their menu has nyonya and western styles.
We ordered their signatures cincalok omelette, Chili garam chicken, kangkung belacan and a small set of stuffed mince soft shell crab and for drinks we ordered sour sop juice.
Kangkung belacan is my favourite, veggie was fresh and young and the spices just nice and not overpowering. But cincalok omelette could have more cincalok as we couldn’t taste much of that fermented prawns in that dish.
Overall, the food tasted good and not too salty. Rating 7/10.
Can come again if we are around...

Paid for so much just for the Aircon. Wondering why this shop still can't survive, 2 foreigner workers and 2 old aunties there. Another middle age women seem like lady boss. Horrible food.....
Read moreDon't eat there!! It's really a waste of our money. We are very disappointed with the food. The food is not Peranakan at all, we ordered the cincalok egg omelette but it tasted like normal onion omelette, the chicken garam chili is horrible. Very sour & it tasted like spoilt gravy, tastes very weird. When we asked one of the staff who is an aunty if the taste is supposed to be sour she said no but didn't offer any kind of apologies or anything. The food is definitely NOT Peranakan! So we didn't bother anyway. The whole place just felt weird. We will definitely not visit again, there are also many more other authentic Peranakan restaurants around Melacca that are available & delicious. Even fastfood would have been a...
