My recent visit to the Roti Naan and Tandoori Restaurant in Melaka was a delightful experience, and I can't help but rave about the delicious and tasty dishes they serve. This restaurant is a hidden gem for anyone seeking authentic Indian cuisine.
The star of the show, undoubtedly, was the Chicken Tandoori. The tandoor-cooked chicken was incredibly tender and bursting with flavor. The smoky, charred edges added a delightful depth to each succulent piece. This dish alone is a reason to visit the restaurant.
But the delights didn't stop there. The menu offered a variety of options to cater to different tastes. The Butter Chicken was a creamy, tomato-based delight that paired perfectly with the warm and fluffy Roti Naan. The combination was simply heavenly.
For those looking for something different, the Fried Fish and Chicken Vindaloo were excellent choices. The fish was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with just the right amount of spices to tantalize the taste buds. The Chicken Vindaloo, on the other hand, brought a spicy kick that was perfectly balanced with the rich, tangy sauce.
The service at the restaurant was friendly and attentive, ensuring that we had a comfortable and enjoyable dining experience.
As for the pricing, it was reasonable for the quality and portion sizes of the dishes. You definitely get value for your money here.
In summary, the Roti Naan and Tandoori Restaurant in Melaka is a culinary gem. From the mouthwatering Chicken Tandoori to the flavorful Butter Chicken, and the diverse menu options, it's a haven for lovers of Indian cuisine. I highly recommend it for anyone seeking a tasty, authentic Indian...
Read moreToday we had dinner from this place which serves Pakistani cousine. So, when we came to Melaka, on the very first day, the Grab driver who drove us to the hotel recommended this place to us. Then the owner of the hotel also recommended this place. Then we searched Google and the reviews were also good. So, we decided to give it a shot.
This place is very close to the red fortress and the famous joker walk in Melaca. It's only a few minutes of walking.
The vibe is also nice . We sat outside the restaurant, actually on the road. That created a different vibe. Very cozy
This restaurant is closed on Mondays. On other days, open from 5.30 pm till 1.00am.
Then we ordered One chest piece of Thanduri chicken ( 13RM) Two plain Naan rotties ( 7 RM each) One cheese Naan rotty ( 11 RM) One chicken curry ( 14 RM) One big Mango lassi ( 10RM)
Honestly, I'm bit disappointed to say that the food was not as good as we expected. Due to high recommendations and good reviews, we thought we would be blown away. But sadly, that didn't happen.
We compared the food here, with the Naans and Thanduri chicken etc. that we have had from Indian restaurants in Sri Lanka ( we are Sri Lankans ). So comparatively, Naan rotties were less tasty and very thick. Cheese naan didn't taste like cheese. The Dhal curry that they served with Naans was cold and tasteless actually. The chicken curry that we ordered for Naan was also not seasoned well I guess . Thanduri chicken was the only dish we liked . The Mango lassi was very watery .
That's my experience....
Read moreA hidden gem in Malacca. The restaurant is slightly outside the Historical City centre, but worth the hunt.
We were recommended this by some of the barbers in Malacca that we were getting a haircut from, and what an experience it was. The only regret we had was not thinking to have our meal outside with everyone else as the sun was setting and the air was warm.
Moving onto the food, we ordered a chicken biryani, lamb biryani, tandoori chicken, cheese naan and a butter naan, which both came with a dhaal/lentil soup to dip the naans in. Some of the best food we'd had all trip.
The biryanis were stunning and flavourful, the tandoori chicken was as expected, nicely paired with mint, and lastly, the naans were to die for. If I were to redo it, I would consider swapping the tandooris as the meal could've benefit from a more-curry based/liquid dish.
Would I go again? Yes. Would I recommend it to others? Absolutely. Do I think about the naan from time to time? Has me wishing to revisit Malacca just for this meal.
TDLR: Some of the best food had in SEA. Flavourful and tasty. Best naan had across many countries. Little outside the historical city. Lovely people serving....
