Update Tue 5 Sep 2023
I came here for a vegetarian meal instead of joining my wife and relatives in Melaka for Chicken Tandori at Pak Putra Place. This meal is taken in memory of my late Macha who introduced this healthier eatery to me. I ordered and enjoyed a Kong Po Fun or vegetarian spicy dried chilli set meal.
Tue 20 Dec 2022 Came here after dropping my wife, her elder sister and her d grandkids nearby for dinner. I opted for a quick-bite vegetarian chap fun or economy rice with free Chinese tea. Reflecting on the days when my late Macha first brought me here for a self-service healthy and good value meal. The menu has expanded to a hot plate vegetarian seof t meal. Would they next trip? A pleasant place to have a casual individual vegetarian dinnerSelf-servicece by taking a plate topped with browgrease-proofof paper then scooping your desired amount of rice from a large container and the display-ready-cooked food, choose the dishes you like and place over the rice and pay for the cashier before sitting down. A fast and inexpensive meal is ready. WarChinesese tea is provided f.o.c. After a healthy meal, one can continue to have a local dessert makeshift stall just outside the shop. The yummy peanut desserts, available only on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays should not be missed.

Read moreIt was late and shops were closing soon. We quickly searched for a vegetarian shop near us and this came up. It was a five kite drive from where we were staying. Parking was available in front of the shop. The shop decor was modest, reminded me of the feeling when you visited your grandma's house, with classic clocks and marble top tables. They serve mixed rice and ala-carte menu as well. We order the sweet and sour tofu, fried tofu and kangkung belacan with white rice. The portions were generous so three dishes was quite a lot for two persons to eat. The kangkung belacan was very tasty. The belacan was fragrant and not too spicy. Cooked just right. The fried tofu was unique, fried crispy and topped with ground peanuts and sesame. It came with spicy sweet dipping sauce. A little like rojak. The whole dish had diced cucumbers for a bed. The sweet and sour tofu had thick sauce. The tofu was served with bell peppers, cucumbers and pineapple cubes. It was not overly cooked so the whole dish was really good with the rice. The dishes were all RM11 each. Cheap IMHO. Overall taste was delicious. Don't mind to be back but will not specifically search...

Came here on a recommendation from a guest at my hostel. I came here late in the evening and I could see that the clientele is more local than tourist, which can be a good thing. At first I was going to go with the buffet, but it occurred to me that it was night and I didn’t know how long the food had been out on the trays, so I went with something off the menu instead. I ordered a Fragrant Claypot Rice and a Honey and plum drink.
The claypot literally came in a clay pot which was awesome. The rice was mixed in soy sauce and came with broccoli, mock char siu and mushrooms. The rice most certainly was fragrant and because the rice was in direct contact with, it lent a slightly barbecue flavour to enhance the fragrance.
Other times, especially during lunchtimes, I ate from the buffet. The majority of the times, it's been enjoyable and the prices are so reasonable too.
One negative was that the restaurant was open to the outside and I was unfortunately to be placed on a table right at the entrance where I was bitten 4 times...
