Parking within the waterfront lot is on the high side if you intend to stay for many hours. Mine was RM12 for 4 hours. This bar had live band later in the night and adds to the party atmosphere although nobody is dancing to the music. If you're seated inside, forget about having any conversation because the music/band is really loud. There's also football on tv and a pool table. If you prefer the sea breeze opt to sit beside the sea, music is less loud there. You can enjoy evening conversation nicely but may take some time for the servers to notice you. Service is not prompt i.e. need to really wave/approach the servers to order. Food is relatively tasty. Seafood pasta aglio olio RM35 tasted okay. However I was not impressed with the draught beer/stout. In my opinion, at RM20-25 per pint it tasted watered down. Also, there's no beer tower here. Need to order per mug/pint. They were out of Kilkenny beer/stout the time I went, only local beers were available & Guinness. Lots of choices for hard liquor...
ย ย ย Read moreMy partner and I wanted to a few drinks for our last night in KK after dinner. It was raining and the venue was packed, with a great local band, so we entered. Unfortunately many tables of guests (both inside and under cover) were smoking and vaping. The smell was so offensive and the air thick with smoke and we felt like we couldn't breathe properly and enjoy our drinks. My partner is also an asthmatic, so I asked an employee if smoking was legal in public enclosed spaces and if they could ask this one particular table to stop if they lit another smoke. She said they asked them to stop but they won't listen and the kitchen is closed so it's okay. As a result, we had to finish our drinks that were just poured, but moved further inside to avoid the smell. By the time we finished our drinks, I would say half the venue were now smoking. What a shame this was, as the music was great and they pour a half decent pint of Guinness! I should have walked out and not paid...
ย ย ย Read morePretty average Irish bar by the water front in Kota Kinabalu. Depending on what night you come there is a love band and they can be good or can be awful it's just pot luck! The food is OK but a little on the expensive side and the service is pretty slow as it's usually packed.
Good place for a drink as there are loads of seats outside but pretty expensive 40MYR for pint and 20MYR for a spirit. But not to fair the whole are is massively over priced and a bit of a tourist trap when you can drink down the road with the locals for half the price.
Depends what you like but it does what it says on the tin. It's an Irish bar serving Sunday roasts and all the usual western pub grub. Service isn't great when busy and...
