La Pampa — Restaurant in Baja California Sur

Outrageously good food, generous portions, and reasonably priced. Accommodates vegetarians and meat lovers equally well. I had one of the best veggie burgers in my life. The french fries brought back memories of what fries used to be when I was a kid. I plan to go back during our stay. The rest of the group had steak. All raved about the steak. Their comment is: this is the place to go if you want to have a talky good, memorable steak grilled to perfection. Didn't rate the atmosphere, but it looked comfortable and casual. We were having drinks 2 doors down at a corner bar (see my Flip Flop bar review), and the barrender said he could have food brought over from La Pampa. I was hesitant to have takeout from a steak house, but our group was enjoying the vibe at Flip Flops and wanted to stay. Simply put, the food was amazing. The waiter from La Pampa brought over our meals on individual butcher blocks, with folk set of utensils, condiments, etc. I'm still floored at the experience and can't say enough about both places. I simply love this place!! I was walking around hungry and wanted to try something other than the typical Mexican restaurant. I was not disappointed! The first thing they brought us was homemade bread with sides of roasted red peppers, roasted eggplant and chimichurri sauce that was out of this world. The flank steak my companion ordered was cooked to perfection and she said it was so moist and flavorful that she was sorry she couldn't not fit a second one. My vegan meal consisted of many different garlic roasted vegetables some of which I didn't recognize but loved them anyway. Definitely check this place out. We were hesitant at first but the food and service were outstanding. They have a very large menu with many choices. The owner Fabian and staff were friendly and professional. Establishment was clean and decorated nicely. I had the rib eye steak. It was a fine cut and nicely marbled as I requested. My husband ordered the flank steak (arrachera) it was very tender and juicy. Both cuts were seasoned well and cooked to perfection. The potato salad was tasty.
