We had a short port day in Cabo San Lucas with our Carnival Cruise. We stopped at Captain Tony’s for a quick bite! I ordered the Deep Fried French Toast. My daughter ordered Bacon and Eggs, which also came with refried beans. We ordered 2 Orange Juice and 2 Bottled Waters. I think our bill came to $28. The price was very reasonable. The restaurant was clean and had a great atmosphere. The staff were very accommodating. Our food came out quite quickly. The service we received was awesome. Located right on the boardwalk so you can watch the boats come and go. You will have the locals reaching onto the patio trying to sell things. Just Know, when you’re walking about, watch for the “reptile agents”🤣. They try and place their cute lizards with sombreros on your shoulder or their larger iguanas. Once they’re placed upon you, your group will think, “oh look how cute, let’s take a picture”, which is fine, but know you need to pay the lizard agents🤣if you take photos. Now, if you don’t want pictures you need to learn how to dodge the approaching lizards. If you’re unable to dodge the lizard placement, I guess keep walking briskly or Run. I’m sure the agents will catch up, grab the little lizards and understand you don’t want a picture with the cute little lizard and his sombrero. You’re hanging out in Mexico and this is all part of it, so enjoy. Stop at Captain Tony’s and enjoy Superb service and great food!! When you’re finished eating, buy a bracelet and hold those little lizards with Love. Help out the wonderful people in Mexico...
Read moreThis spot is a short and easy 6-minute walk from the marina. No need to pay anyone to escort you. Once you step off the tender, just turn right and follow Google Maps. It’s a simple, safe route that gets you there quickly without hassle.
The atmosphere is relaxed and a welcome break from the sun. The music was enjoyable, the service was decent, and the fellow cruise passengers nearby added to the good vibes. Everyone was friendly, chill, and happy to be on vacation.
Now here’s your heads-up: the food is expensive. I ordered two appetizers. Guac and dynamite shrimp along with a piña colada. My total came to around $55 USD including tip. Some of that is due to taxes and government fees, but the prices are definitely geared toward tourists.
Important note for fellow travelers: If you don’t read Spanish, be aware that the tip is already included in your BILL which is usually around 15–20%. It may not be obvious, so don’t feel pressured to leave extra. Check the line that says “Propina incluida” or just ask. There’s no need to give the server additional money unless you truly want to.
All in all, if you’re okay with splurging a little for convenience and atmosphere, this is a solid place to grab a bite near the port. Just go in informed so you’re not caught off guard when the...
Read moreWe stumbled upon this restaurant while walking around the marina/pier/port area since we were looking for fresh fish tacos. This is an open air restaurant with a tropical mexican fishery theme. They have a chart with the fresh catches of the day. We ordered a margarita and a mojito. We also ordered the battered shrimp tacos and the battered fish tacos. The plates came with 3 tacos. We also got chips and salsa and pico de gallo that came with our tacos. Also the prices on the menu are listed in peso’s so be aware of the exchange rate. The tacos were super fresh and delicious. Exactly what we needed. There was a mariachi band going around and playing for tips. We did see another table have fresh guacamole made in front of them. When the bill came it did show the price in Dollars and in Pesos. We never got a drink menu so we didn’t know how much the drinks were. Our server did ask us whether we wanted the charge to be in dollars or pesos. Overall we would recommend the fish tacos at this place to get your fix of authentic...
