Warning - Long Post So, if I could nominate this place for a Michelin Star or a James Beard Award, I would. We have eaten here 3 out of the 5 nights we've been in Cabo, and the only thing I hate about it is we didn't find out about it sooner. This place is a WHOLE VIBE!!! The atmosphere, the staff and the food all phenomenal.
Now let's talk about Thomas our server (super nice guy), talked me into the catch of day (he's my new best friend)... The snapper was cooked to perfection (came back again to try the sword fish - perfection again), but I almost forgot about it because the vegetables stole the show. Grilled broccoli, mushrooms, greens and a puree that was perfection! I didn't know mushrooms could taste so good🤤.
My wife had the smoked pancetta honey pizza (caramelized onions and honey) did I mention it had honey on it... I didn't know pizza could taste this good... 🤤.
Dessert was the yummy Sticky toffee cake with vanilla been ice cream ❤️, the S'mores (Skillet chocolate chip cookie 😋) was just as amazing ❤️.
Oh don't let me forget the mocktail mojito in the martini glass. This was a special treat from the bartender showing a little extra love ... This should be bottled and sold by the gallon! It tastes like beautiful was poured in a glass with a mint kiss.
The hostess, Garcia, was delightful and Karen made sure we were well taken care of. Rodrigo was a prince of a server. Now the genius behind the amazing dishes we kept coming back for was Chef Guillermo. Our meals we're blissful and he was humble which made us love him even more! He was so inviting and accommodating. Let me warm you. If you eat here, you won't want to eat anywhere else in Cabo... Oh yeah the nightly live music completes the WHOLE VIBE! We are already looking forward to coming back to Cabo and making this a recurring experience! Gracias Guillermo and the whole Esquina staff! You guys...
Read moreWe have eaten here for years and always considered it to be one of our favorite restaurants but we ate there the other night and I am compelled to warn others about what we experienced. First of all, we made a reservation in advance and received a call the day of the reservation to confirm, as well. When we spoke with them, we told them a child was in our party. When we showed up, they told us that they had gotten rid of the entire kid menu and could not accommodate even the most simple request for a cheese quesadilla or butter noodles! I had to buy my child a 480 peso “gourmet” burger that was totally inedible; more on that later. Both of the times we confirmed our reservation someone at the restaurant, they failed to mention that their pizza oven was broken. Mind you, the pizza is about 1/3 of their menu and the entire reason why people go there in the first place. We decided to stay and eat anyway because we like the place and figured we would try other things. The food took over an hour to arrive at our table. The burgers were so dry and overcooked that not even the most undiscerning person in my party would eat it! I got the mussels and they were totally inedible; I actually had to spit out the first 3 I ate because they were all rotten!! That’s where I drew the line and had to write this review because if they don’t make some big changes quickly, someone is going to get really sick and end up in the hospital…if they haven’t already. The only upside was the guitarist. He’s awesome and I look forward to listening to him again at...
Read moreWe arrived at high traffic time, but there were seats available. Unfortunately, we were seated literally right in front of the live musician. The music made it impossible to have a conversation, so we asked to move to another table in another section of the restaurant. We were told ok, but no one actually came to move us, so we moved ourselves. We had already ordered, but apparently no one had told anyone that we were moving, so another waiter came up and asked our drink order again. Our appetizers came out, and then another food runner brought yet another bread serving. We waited and waited (over an hour) for our main courses, finally asking if the orders were coming. Carlos, the food manager(I think?) came to try to accomodate us. We were ready at that point to leave, since it was about 10pm. I wanted to pay for what we had consumed and leave, but just then our food finally arrived. The food was decent, but not great. We tried chicken and pork tenderloin, and it was about average; not what you'd expect at those prices and that wait. As we were wrapping up, Carlos and another manager came to apologize again (saving 3 stars), and comping a dessert and part of the bill, which was very nice. I would go back to give them another try, but not when the live...
