TARAS RESTAURANT my absolute go-to in Pokhara. Tucked away in a peaceful little alley, just off the main road, this gem is everything you want in a place to eat: nourishing food, loving energy, peaceful vibes, and a price that feels like a gift.
The owner? A total sweetheart. She prepares every dish fresh right when you order and you can taste the love. It’s honestly like being fed by your own mom. Every bite feels like care. You feel energized, grounded, and full in the best way possible, not just in the stomach, but energetically.
This place is a full-body yes. Clean, healthy, and wholesome food. Not oily, no junk. Just pure, delicious, nourishing Nepali home-cooked goodness.
✨ Must-tries? Paneer momos soft, rich, packed with flavor Chocolate momos, YES, chocolate momos for dessert! The only place I’ve seen them, and they’re divine Traditional thali, loaded plate, balanced, satisfying Masala chai, had a whole pot to myself, and I’d do it again
You seriously can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Every dish is a win. The portions are generous, the prices are humble, and the energy is just… right.
Don’t think twice. Tara’s restaurant is the best restaurant in Pokhara my home away from...
Read moreDelicious and fresh authentic amazing food! Yes, of course you have to wait a bit fot that fresh cooked dishes! Can't understand the people who are complaining in the previous comments...... There are plenty of restaurants where you don't have to wait for your food long, but if you are caring about what you are eating and how it was prepared than I wouldn't go to all that restaurants. The prices are much higher and you get what ever from whenever food. So it's your choice! So better to wait and enjoy the FRESH meals made with LOVE! It's just a bit sad that the restaurant is a bit hidden in the main street, so many people might miss it...... THANK...
Read moreWe really enjoyed our late lunch here. Had the chili paneer Momo's and Phad Thai Noodles. The noodles were quite spicy which we really enjoyed. The setting is lovely and quiet away from the road. It feels like you're in your friends backyard and they are cooking for you - casual warm and friendly. They didn't have our beverage of choice on the menu but the owner went out of their way to get it for us - so kind! It was a one woman show when we were there and it's all made fresh so you can expect to wait a little bit for your meal. We were happy to though, it's a lovely spot to spend some time, I just wouldn't go if you were...
