This place was on my "Must Do" list for Amsterdam. When researching them I saw they had such a diverse and fun wine list with by the glass, bottle and tasting options. They aren't far from Dam Square, but set into a side street so much quieter and laid back.
We enjoyed a champagne tasting that gave us 3 different champagnes to try for only $28! Our server explained each one to us and allowed us to ask any questions we had. We also had a glass of wine each before leaving because the atmosphere was so fun! We did not try the food as we had just eaten not long before getting there, but they do have food available that another table had and it looked very fresh and like it would pair well with your wines. The vibe here is so unique. I loved how laid back and comfortable this place was for how elite a wine list it has! There was no effrontery or snobbish attitudes just a group of people that seem to love wine and community.
They have local art hanging and available for purchase and the staff took the time to give us the background of the artist and how they came to have their work available.
This is the place where if I lived in Amsterdam I could see myself visiting at least once a week for a glass of wine and a chat. Highly recommend if you are in the area, especially if you love trying new...
Read moreI read about Bubble & Wines before my trip and it was one of the many things I was very excited about. I love champagne. I’m not a big champagne drinker. Certainly not a connoisseur or anything, but I really enjoy it. For me, it’s a once in while treat. But the idea of doing a champagne tasting was very exciting, and I was reading such great reviews about the place.
I went on a Thursday night around 9:00. It was slow. There was only one other customer at the time. The staff seemed somewhat nice. Not real friendly. I certainly wasn’t expecting to be best friends or anything, but a little bit more friendliness would have been nice. Still, I was excited about the champagne flight. Unfortunately, it was not so good. Again, I’m no connoisseur but I think I can tell when a champagne is rather flat and the first two champagnes were just that. The third was quite good. I mentioned this to the bartender and his response was literally, “Oh.” Seriously? Just "Oh"? My response is, “Oh well, you just bought yourself a lousy review."
This experience certainly didn’t dampen my otherwise wonderful day, but I certainly would not recommend Bubbles & Wines and I certainly wouldn’t go...
Read moreBubbles and wines is the best wine bar in Amsterdam. Incredible selection of wine and many times we’ve gone in, have just asked for their best recommendation and haven’t been disappointed ever. Especially lovely champagne range (and tasting option!) We also hosted a private event here in the spring and it was very popular, well priced for several bottles of wine and charcuterie / borrel type snacks! Service is lovely too, attentive without being too much. They also coincidentally have the best bitterballen in Amsterdam - served with truffle mayo. 🤤 Very cozy and comfortable inside, good playlists, overall a great place for a drink after work or to kick off a fun evening.
UPDATED: been here like 20 times since my initial review and still good. Amaze playlist, new and expanded snack menu (still the best bitterballen in Amsterdam), and a nice rotation of wines so you can always try something new. Snacks that I love are the caviar (pictures), but the bitterballen served with truffle mayo as well as the Parmesan “bee stings” are really delicious. A good atmosphere where you’re attended too but not overly...
