Very few places in Amsterdam open at 7am. Hidden off the main streets, we actually walked by it and had to backtrack. It’s a lovely setting, though no view outside to distract you from the detail oriented food you’re about to receive, like the little cube of coffee cake that comes on the saucer of your macchiato and the quenelle of crème fraiche with the pancakes. The pancakes had the crispy edges, stacked tall and moist with either banana and bacon or blueberry compote (they ran out after my order for the day). Maple syrup is poured on the plate, which is what I’m going to do from now on at home. The Eggs Benedict was so soft and felt luxurious in texture and flavor with ample amount of cured salmon and jammy poached eggs covered with a blanket of hollandaise. Even the scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly with chives and pretty much like a French omelette that hadn’t been rolled up. Came with two artisan toast slices and good quality butter. Top it all off with great service and reasonable prices for the same price as our hotel’s buffet (which would’ve been more quantity than quality). Hands down one of our favorite meals in Amsterdam. I even thanked the kitchen staff on the way out. I don’t do that often (except in Japan).

⭐☆☆☆☆ Customer Service: 1 Star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Food: 5 Stars We recently visited The Lobby Nesplein with two separate bookings for two different teams of friends. Although we arrived together, our reservations were completely separate, and we never asked to combine the tables. Unfortunately, the way we were treated at the entrance was very disappointing. The hostess told us in a rather rude tone that we were “fooling” the restaurant and that next time we should make “a full booking instead of scamming them,” which was shocking and completely uncalled for. We explained politely that we simply had two bookings, two tables, and were not asking for any special accommodations. The restaurant was not even full at the time, yet we were made to feel unwelcome. This interaction left a very negative impression about their customer service. Hospitality is about making guests feel comfortable, not accused. That being said, the food was absolutely fantastic—easily 5 out of 5. Every dish was prepared beautifully and tasted amazing. Compliments to the kitchen team for delivering such high quality. If only the service matched the excellence of the food, this would have been a perfect experience.

The atmosphere was good and the place had a lot of potential. The food was eatable, but the service was horrible. It took us almost almost 30 minutes for someone to come and to take out our order. By the way, extremely arrogant and unpleasant gentleman. The salt we had on the table was empty, so I had to stand up and get it from another table, after not being noticed by any of the waiters for a long time. We have ordered a Sprite and a Fanta, and were informed they had their own versions, so we agreed to try. But, we received some sort of orange bottle of something that was not even sparkling, and some weird lemonade that tasted like cleaning products. Was better not to have it. When we finished our meal, the waiter passed several times by us, but never removed the dirty dishes or offered us desert or coffee. After a long waiting time , we have just decided to stand up and leave. Furthermore, had to be waiting for another long time by someone of their grumpy staff to come to the cashier and pay by the door. Definitely will not be back and definitely do not recommend.

Our experience at the restaurant the lobby i Our experience at the restaurant "De Lobi" in Amsterdam was disappointing on many fronts. We chose the 5-course menu, which, apart from not being of the quality we expected for the price, was accompanied by serious disappointments. The worst thing, however, was the fact that we were charged five times more than we should have, with incorrect charges on the bill.

When we pointed out the mistake to the waiter, instead of apologizing for the inconvenience, they simply changed the receipt after we pointed it out ourselves, with absolutely no sign of politeness or desire to rectify the situation. All they managed to do was leave a taste of unjustified indifference and annoying negligence.

The food was mediocre and certainly not up to expectations for the price we paid, and the service was cold and indifferent. It's really sad that a restaurant with such a reputation seems to not care about customer satisfaction. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, and we will definitely never return n Amsterdam was disappointing on many fronts. During our short stay at Hotel V, we popped downstairs (we had booked mind, knowing that we’d be knackered and didn’t want to venture too far) to eat in The Lobby for a nice simple dinner. My expectations were…. Well, didn’t have any. Just booked it for the convenience. How to summarise our meal? Easily top ten ever. How to rate the restaurant? I think it’s my favourite restaurant in the world. Seriously – used to be Skylon, but yeah, definitely this one now. The style, the vibe, the friendliness and holy moly, the grub, all excellent, top notch and divine. It was the most perfect dining experience I can remember.

I’m annoyed with myself for not trying it for our second night (established theory is; it’s never as good a second time. But I so wanted to prove the theory wrong! We ended up at a little characterful place up the same street which was also good – need to review that too – we really lucked out in Amsterdam). We had breakfast twice too during our stay and both times amazing. But the dinner – it’s something I will never forget and wow, “the corn soup is the greatest thing I ever tasted” was not something I thought I’d ever mutter. We both had the fish too and, cor, great stuff. Also, shockingly, very reasonably priced (like, a hundred euros for two of us including wine) so we can’t recommend it enough. If ever in Amsterdam again, and The Lobby alone might be a reason return, we will certainly come back. ...

Title: Extremely Disappointed with Service and Misinformation Review: I recently had a very disappointing experience at the Lobby. I arrived at the restaurant at 11:25, just after the breakfast session had ended. However, the staff informed me that they were closed until 12 for lunch. When I asked if I could reserve a table for 12, I was told there was no need and that I should simply come back at 12. Following their advice, I spent a frustrating 35 minutes walking around, killing time until the designated time. Finally, at 11:59, I returned to the restaurant, expecting to be seated for lunch. To my surprise, another staff member informed me that I couldn't walk in without a reservation. When I mentioned that I had been told to come back at 12, the previous staff member who had given me the advice simply brushed it off, saying she wasn't part of the table management team. This whole ordeal was a complete waste of my time, and I am incredibly disappointed with the poor service and lack of consistency in information provided by the staff. It's evident that there is a significant communication issue within the restaurant. As a result, I have no intention of returning in the future. I strongly urge the management of the Lobby to address these issues promptly. Customers should be able to rely on accurate information and consistent service when visiting a restaurant. Unfortunately, my experience fell far short of these...
