Lunchroom Cafe St. Paul's — Restaurant in Amsterdam

Terrible experience. Tourist trap. Worst owner ever. Run away !

The waiter started to bark at us as we were looking for a place for our bicycles. We were tired and hungry so we gave him a chance anyway.

The "white wine" taste like the worst budget wine you could find in a shop. The molds we asked for were fried in a pan with a few vegetables and no shells. The frozen fries barely cooked. I had one slice of cucumber and tomato in my "salad". Everything was dry and tasteless.

I didn't even finish it, and I'm not picky. That was one of the worst customer experience I ever had in a restaurant, and I paid 25.5€ for it. The quality of a Döner for 5 time the price minus a decent reception. This "restaurant"...

Yeah… no. Had a bad feeling as soon as I walked in, should have trusted my gut. Was lured by the pictures of cakes. The menu had precious few desserts (all I wanted after a delicious dinner elsewhere). Ordered the Apple pie: from a box, blasted in the microwave and served with the spray can whipped cream I’ve come to associate with America. When I lacked cash (apparently their card machine was broken) they offered me to pay in American dollars instead, and tried to overcharge me. After shopping in Amsterdam in the city, I came across this cute restaurant, the name immediately caught my attention. Once inside, it has a nice atmosphere. The owner is super funny and friendly. The mussels are delicious and flavorful. The chicken tortellini is really tasty, Alex recommended adding spicy sauce to the pasta. Normally, I'm not a fan of spiciness, but this was really good together. A great recommendation. It was raining outside and the glüwhein came in handy to warm up. Good price.
