The Latte was lovely but I was asked by the lovely lady for feedback. The breakfast was disappointing for what I had paid for and it was not worth it. It is called “The Local”. You know some people are quite happy to pay for meals but at least make it worth what people are being asked to pay. The waiter didn’t even ask how I liked my eggs, my mushrooms just looked like shrivelled up old budget mushrooms they had stored in the fridge for a long period of time they needed to use. The bacon just looked like a mess on a plate. It just looked like they were serving me rubbish on a plate. Unfortunately, I would not consider coming back here. Joe’s Garage in bush in, Christchurch, serve a decent breakfast and there are so many other places that serve better quality meals to customers. May be other meals on the menu are much nicer but the breakfast was enough to put me off going back. Joes Garage is located across the road from the bus interchange in the city. The quality of your food at least your breakfast menu needs to be up there and it’s not. It just looks like the chef is inexperienced. Call it what you like but when you have had breakfast served to you on a plate and the presentation is beautiful and it tastes great? it makes people want to come back. The presentation lacks creativity and it was just boring. Yes I ate it all it doesn’t mean I liked it, I had to I paid almost $30 for the breakfast itself. Read moreWent along tonight with my wife for our first meal out in over 3 months (finally got a babysitter and very excited) We both ordered "Stan the wallet" cooked medium. When they arrived at the table my wife's steak was cooked medium mine however was very rare, I spoke with the waitress and she assured me all would be sorted, I wouldn't have to pay for the meal and the manager would come and see me. The manager never appeared and when the second steak arrived almost an hour after the original order was placed it was still very rare. At this point I was hungry, annoyed and nearly late for my movie so I went to the manager and tried to explain my situation, he told me had spoken to the chef and he/she had told him "that's how you cook a medium steak" He refused to believe my wife when she told him hers was cooked to a proper medium and quite different to mine and made us feel like liars. Your customer service Mr Manager was nothing short of disgusting and I suggest you send your chef back to cooking school because a chef that doesn't know the difference between rare, medium rare and medium steak shouldn't be in a restaurant kitchen. And just so you know the difference I have googled the different cooking grades and included a picture for you and your chef so none of your other customers have to be left feeling pretty damn disappointed. Read moreOk so we chose here to get a food coffee and a quick bite, coffee was good but it was anything but quick bite. Ok so I get human error but just own it. I first realised it was all going pear shape when I saw my dish being served up and there wasn’t the other two. So rather than sending mine out to the next order they left it waiting for a further 25mins.
Not a single waitress popped over to fill us in with what was going on, I had to ask when I could get their attention. We had now been waiting 40mins. Another round of coffee was offered but we didn’t want it we wanted to hit the road and parking was running out.
Eventually breaky was served along with my dish that had been sat there with a cold egg on it. I said I don’t want to be difficult but at least can I have a fresh warm egg.
At payment the lady asked if everything was ok, I replied sure apart from the error made in the order and then the wait and the lack of communication. Oh sorry about that, was all I received back.
Little care, zero communication and a lack of attention to detail were the failings here. Won’t be back anytime soon and am only writing a review because I gave plenty of chances to offer a fix and none was...
