This is my second time here, and I appreciate the interior, color tones, and overall ambiance of Platz. The toilet is a bit worn down, and they seem to have changed the hand soap since my last visit. I still remember how lovely the soap smelled during my previous visit, but this time, we are rooting for the Norwegian soap brand Fitja Island. Back to the main review… The food experience was amazing as the last time! All the details and flavors in each dish showcased the purpose behind them and the highly skilled chefs. As an aubergine fan, Platz Cafe really presented aubergine in the best possible ways! We opted for the ALL IN, which allowed us to taste all the dishes on the main course and dessert! My top favorite dishes are: - Aubergine tempura in Szechuan sauce: It reminded me of an authentic Szechuan restaurant back in China. The aubergine was perfectly fried - crispy outside and juicy and tender inside. Beware of the scorching heat! - Uer in prawn bisque: The big-eyed red fish fillet accompanied by prawn stock was so delicious I literally licked the plate until the last drop. - Roasted coconut ice cream with black currant: The ice cream had a hint of saltiness and a slightly roasted coconut undertone. I loved the green currant oil, which added a nice freshness to the dessert. - Homemade pita: It was incredibly fluffy and nicely grilled, one of the best pitas I've ever had! I must admit that the snow crab dish was not the best. The Nam Prik and butter were overpowering for the delicate snow crab. Nevertheless, kudos to their experimental attitude. I truly enjoyed the friendly and low-key service provided by the staff. They patiently explained all the details about the dishes whenever I had any questions. Platz is excellent value for money compared to other restaurants of the similar food level. I would definitely come back again 😋

A coworker and I went to grab some food during lunch break. Great atmosphere, and well positioned by the pier of Bjørvika. We were two out of 10 people in the restaurant and still asked to sit at the bar (note that 10-12 big tables were available). Our waiter seemed to forget us, so we had to reach out to other waiters multiple times. The food was expensive for the quantitative, nonetheless very tasty! The fries in particular. Food 3/5 Atmosphere 5/5 Service 2/5 Might go back..

We were looking for some small bite at a nice place and Cafe Platz had available tables. The atmosphere is nice and it has good vibes. Since this is the in-store cafe of “hip” Holzweiler, some people may chose just for that reason. For us that didn’t play a role. The food is delicious. For the price, the amount fits. The meals are not full size. But you also don’t pay the full price :) especially if you are watching your calories, trying to stay social and enjoy a delicious meal while not eating very much, this is a very good place. One comment on the green salad: that was pushing the limit of being a joke. It looked like it was made by someone who has never seen or heard of how a salad dish looks. The sauce of the salad was ok but the dish was not looking attractive. I prefer salad over many dishes, I love eating a salad. But this was not a salad; it was finely chopped lettuce and that’s it. The service is good, the grilled cod was delicious. I would like to visit...
