What was good: The house keeping staff did a good job of cleaning our room and giving us fresh towels daily, upon request. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable.
What was not good: The resort is very run down and not as pictured. Our Garden view room was more of a junkie alley view. The bathroom is so small that when you shower, the entire room gets wet, even if you try to keep it dry. This leaves the bathroom floor constantly wet and slippery and gross feeling under your feet. The music is extremely loud and pounding all over the resort at night. Don’t stay here if you don’t want to go to bed early as you cannot sleep with the extremely loud banging music for most of the night. We booked with a booking agency and we ordered breakfast with our room (prepaid for). Upon arrival, we were given coupons for each breakfast. After going to the first breakfast, we realized the food was not what we can eat, and the dining tables were so filthy that we chose to make our own breakfast in our room every morning for the rest of our 10 day stay. Our breakfast coupons were pre-paid for and we did not use them. However, 3 days before we left, I became friends with a local lady. I wanted to share with her, so I went to the front desk to ask if it was OK, to share my breakfast coupons, l was told it was OK to share the coupons by a PROFESSIONAL, kind front desk clerk. However, when my friend arrived the next morning for breakfast, the head of security ( FUENTES JR., ROMEO H.) refused her entry to the restaurant, and told her it was only for hotel guest (She told me later that even when she comes to eat at their lunch buffet, he refuses to let her and her family in (as a paying guest). even though the restaurant is open to anybody who walks by.
This establishment discriminate against the locals! This upset me a lot. I went to the front desk when I found out they turned her away. The man at the front desk then told me that the coupons were only for used by me and I couldn’t share them even though I paid for them. When I got upset at him, he then said he would let my friend use the coupons, but would take the money for each meal that was already prepaid by me out of the other ladies wages, (the front desk lady who originally told me it was OK). He was going to be cutting more than a week of wages from her pay, for food that I already paid for, just to be mean! I told him that nowhere in the booking or on the coupon did it say that I couldn’t transfer my coupons to a friend. He continued to argue with me and then proceeded to tell me to “f@$& o&@”. At that point, my husband entered the front desk reception area. The man continued to yell at me and then told my husband “f^*¥ you” before stomping out of the reception area.
All of this because I didn’t want my last three days of coupons to go to waste, as the other days had. The poor front desk, lady that had originally told me it was OK to share the coupons, was shook up and traumatized. She kept apologizing to me.
I was really angry at the men and felt terrible for her! I promised her that I would not let them charge her for the meals I had already paid for.
I then requested that I get take out boxes and deliver it to my friend. I had to do this because the head of security thinks this resort is too good to allow locals to enter.
Now it costed them more for takeout boxes for me to pack food and deliver to my friend, versus letting her come sit down and eat. Do you want to support this type...
Read moreIt's a resort in the Philippines, as a Canadian tourist I understand the differences in culture and amenities and it was up to par. The breakfast buffets were nice to have, no complaints. I have a food allergy and the things I was not sure were safe for me were skipped, and there was more than enough other options. Lots of seafood and lots of rice, as expected in the Philippines.
The transport from the airport and boat to the island made things easy to get to the hotel, no complaints there.
Wifi wouldn't work in my room, "connected without internet" and nobody fixed it but the reception lobby wifi was fine for me if I needed it.
DO NOT DRINK THE WATER as they use tap water. I was told by my doctor to be careful of this, most of my stay in the Philippines was in Batangas with family friends and even they warned me not to drink tbe tap water. They got theirs delivered in jugs. You'd think a resort would have the same practice but that is not the case. 2 friends drank a lot of water and they...
Read moreIt is average at first. No problem with the transportation services. But I noticed that the food (esp. breakfast) is bland. Moreover, the bedsheets and towels look dirty (though I'm not saying that it is dirty on a microscopic level, just the appearance). The worst experience I had was when they prohibited us from going back to the breakfast buffet. Supposedly, we were to have our flight back to Manila at around 9am but got informed in the evening (day before our departure) that our flight will be delayed and so, we opted to check out later than usual. I asked them why aren't we allowed to go back to the buffet but the staff simply said, "Ganoon po talaga sir kasi nai-pack na po" (that's the way it is sir because we have packed your food already). You see, their response is quite illogical and doesn't answer my concern. So, I rated it as 2 stars. I would not recommend it...
