I dined at Hap Chan around 6 PM, like I ALWAYS do when I am here in Boracay. I was the only guest at the time. Right from the start, it was clear that the crew was rude and uninterested in serving me. After I ordered, two more guests arrived, and once I finished my meal, I called my girlfriend to suggest she join me. While waiting, I browsed on my phone, but a crew member approached me, demanding I lower the volume despite it being perfectly reasonable. I know how to respect my surroundings, and I am definitely sure the volume is not loud enough to disrupt anyone else's business.
This behavior was entirely unacceptable and disrespectful, especially given that the restaurant wasn’t busy. I've dined in many establishments, including numerous Chinese restaurants, and this was the first time I experienced such blatant rudeness. The crew and manager showed a complete lack of respect and professionalism toward customers.
Hap Chan isn't a fine dining restaurant, yet they act like they’re above everyone else. The crew's arrogance outmatched that of the customers they were supposed to serve! Even the manager, dressed in white, had the audacity to smile as if finding the situation amusing.
If the staff doesn’t want to provide respectful service, they need to reconsider their place in the industry. And honestly, if having a mobile phone is a problem here, I would strongly advise against visiting this establishment. Their absurd policy is simply not worth the hassle. I, my family, and friends will stop being a patron of...
Read moreWe went here because my folks wanted congee and chinese food. The beef brisket noodles was served cold. The congee was watery and soup like in consistency. Our parwnts called them out right away. The manager came and gave the excuse that the congee is vaccuum sealed straight from manila. I told him it doesnt matter because at the end of the day the congee is still watery and me as a customer doesn’t really care about their supply chain only the food that is presented in front of me. The manager in charge on february 27 also said they are wondering why one congee was soup like water and the other is somewhat soupy somewhat accusing us of sabotaging our own food. I told him we are not here looking for a free meal and we are going to pay for our meal but we wanted to make them aware of how bad their food is.
The worst part is my dad got food poisoned after it. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this restaurant. Carinderia lugaw is better than what they are serving. I am not normally one to write a review but this was the most dosappointing experience i rver had in any restaurant with the lack of empathy of the manager i spent time...
Read moreFor a beach front restaurant that is connected to a hotel, this one was so disappointing in service and food.
We entered, seated ourselves and waited for a menu. Another couple went in and they immediately got their menu immediately. I had to call the attention to one of the staff to get a menu.
The waiter that also served us didn’t look like he wanted to serve us, he was just frowning and seems to want to be out of there asap.
We ordered the beef wonton and siomai, which for their prices were also disappointing.
The siomai wasn’t anything special and tasted like something you can get from the street for 70-80 pesos (it was 250). The beef wonton soup tasted like it was just assembled instead of cooked together. There were some bits of the noodles that were still stuck together and only partially hydrated. The wontons were nothing special and the beef was meh.
Tbh, if you want items like these try something like Chowking instead. Chowking has the same or even better quality at a way...
