Dos Locos — Restaurant in Panglao

Surprisingly good stab at Mexican food in the Philippines. Authenticity is a little wobbly but the result is still very enjoyable. Restaurant located in front of a small inn. Cash & credit card payments accepted, perhaps e-wallet as well. Only outdoor seating so make sure it's not going to rain before you go!

Enchiladas and tacos were enjoyable. I'm not going to say it tastes like the food in Guadalajara, but I enjoyed it. They say they make their own corn tortillas. Carne asada was enjoyable and they provide plenty of diced tomatoes on top. Choose the spiciness level for the "salsa" they serve on the side. I chose the hottest and it had a little kick to it.

I ordered a plate of chips with more salsa. I meant tortilla chips, but what I got was potato chips. Might have also been home made or at least were a very authentic pre-packaged option. Tasty, but not quite what I was hoping for!

Beverages include sodas, juices, beer and some cocktails (mojitos, margaritas, etc.). Cocktails aren't very strong but the taste is ok.

Staff is friendly. Portions are a little on the small side so the prices seem slightly high. But I'd definitely go back here if I'm in the area again and looking for a light and fresh tasting...

Food was not bad but the service was. I ordered just 2 items for takeout and when my takeout arrived, they had forgotten one item. The lady who took my order got defensive and blamed it on me. I calmly said they had missed my other order but instead of her just saying they’ll work on my other order, she insisted that I did not order the other item when she clearly just forgot to list down 1 out of 2 orders.. I know what I ordered.. it was almost like she didn’t wanna take the other order anymore. So hostile, such bad customer service. She didn’t even stop at that.. she kept trying to argue and blame me when all I said was I’m ok to wait longer and pay for that other order. The interaction was just...

Located in front of their inn in Alona. The staff weren't very accommodating, we were asking a few questions on some of the dishes but it was clear with their responses that they just wanted us to order already. We ended up just ordering 2 different quesadillas, the beef and the pork. The beef was better as it had more flavor in my opinion. The tortilla itself was burnt in some parts, I've had a few quesadillas from different places so I know that it wasn't just grilled/char from the pan but on the parts that weren't burnt, the dish was actually fine.
