Great Food, Great Service, Great Location: Great Chinese cooked to order "buffet". It even includes All of the Sushi items from the "My Sushi" sister restaurant (through #60): you just pick it and they will deliver it to your table here! Best of both worlds. We have been here twice and will be going back for Christmas day lunch! Our Nepalese waiter, Bhupendra Sharma, was very personable, friendly and helpful. We had two orders of garlic shrimp, which came to the table on a sizzling skillet. It was absolutely delicious. The dumplings were delicious. We prefer the orange duck with the (delicious) sauce on the side. While the other duck is also delicious, we prefer the orange duck. The hot and sour soup was delicious. The fried shrimp was OK, but we will order the shrimp tempura next time. The fried calamari was OK. It has never been a favorite of mine. The lamb skewer is pretty good. Great deal for lunch or dinner. Four outside tables. Highly recommended. Edit: Ate Christmas lunch there. They had a new, nicer looking menu with additional food items and different preparations of main meals (duck, etc). Nice. I added pictures of the new menu, plus pictures of "My Sushi" restaurant's takeout menu, from which you can order items to eat here, all included in the single price that you pay for your "My Food" Chinese buffet! As planned, we ordered sushi, sashimi and shrimp tempura from Bhupendra. He said that it'd take 15-20 minutes to get those and suggested that we order an appetizer while we waited, as a part of our buffet (all included). So, we ordered the garlic shrimp skillet. Yum. He was right. Everything arrived on time and as promised, and looked as good as when we were eating it at "My Sushi" buffet! Once we were done with that order, we ordered another garlic shrimp, dumplings and Black Seaweed (which also came with tiny strips of beef). Everything was, as always, delicious. We were super full by the time we got up and left. Great, personable service, as before. Service with a smile. Awesome people, great prices. Eat there. What are you...

HUGE improvement. We tried it out a few months back when they just reopened and the meat was excellent quality. A nice selection of other things to cook, such as tofu-fish sticks.
Large menu with plenty of options and we were pleased at the variety. They even offer a few decent banchan. Much better than I had at Korean BBQs in Mexico, not as good as other banchan in other countries though.
Is it going to be as good as Asia? No, obviously not. Not a single Asian restaurant in Portugal is and it's unreasonable to hold places here to that exceptionally high standard for cuisine. You have to lower expectations and look at them in context of their geography. In other countries, maybe it would not be as good in comparison, but for Algarve this is good quality.
It is difficult to get any authentic East Asian food in Lagos. This is about the best it gets. (What other people call "authentic" here is just white people who don't know what they're even saying.)
It isn't quite full Korean, and not quite Chinese BBQ (none of the spice). It's some mix of both, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. It hits the spot and it is thankfully something different to the typical "Chinese" buffet or bad sushi that is everywhere in Algarve. I give them kudos for doing something different for the region.
I do wonder if now they have air-conditioning because when we visited in spring, it was already very hot inside with the grills going. If not, I think I would suggest open air outside. Other than that, the interior was nicely renovated. Much better than it was before.
Overall, a decent Asian grill that is...
Read moreI recently visited Qian Tu Barbecue, and I have to say, it was such a fun experience! If you’re a fan of Asian BBQs, this place makes you feel like you're in a traditional Korean restaurant. What I loved most was the fact that you can grill your own meat right at the table, on a built-in grill. It turns the whole outing into a mini cooking show, adding a layer of fun and interaction when you’re with friends or family.
Atmosphere and Service
The atmosphere is super welcoming. The interior has a modern feel with subtle Asian influences that make it feel special. The warm lighting and ambient music really set a relaxing tone. The staff are incredibly friendly and always there to help if you're unsure how to cook the meat or which sauce to pick. Speaking of sauces – they are delicious! The staff are also really quick to refill your side dishes or bring you anything you need without being intrusive.
Food and Menu
The food – wow! I tried several types of meat – beef, pork, and even some seafood – and everything was super fresh and marinated to perfection. The portions are generous, and the traditional Asian side dishes (kimchi, bean salads, rice) complement every bite of meat beautifully. I was surprised by how many options there are, and each sauce or seasoning brings out a different flavor. Plus, the prices are very reasonable, so you can bring a bigger group without worrying about overspending.
Conclusion
For me, Qian Tu Barbecue is the perfect spot if you want to enjoy an authentic and interactive dining experience in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Whether you're out with friends or family, it’s the ideal place to chat and laugh while grilling your own BBQ and...
