Coffee: The iced coffee with milk was disappointing, lacking complexity or notable flavor. It tastes too simple, which is unexpected for a coffee shop that prides itself on coffee quality. The cappuccino, similarly, felt plain—nothing remarkable or memorable about it. Both drinks lack key flavor notes, leaving them forgettable.
Desserts: The cheesecake crumble was below average for a coffee shop, and far from what you’d expect from a bakery. Given the limited dessert options, I anticipated better quality, but unfortunately, it did not meet expectations.
Coffee Selection: The coffee selection is extensive, but the experience falls short when two different coffee options taste remarkably similar. There’s a lack of excitement or differentiation, making it hard to stay interested in exploring other offerings.
Takeaway vs. Seating: While there’s an extra charge for takeaway, the seating area is uncomfortable and lacks cushioning. This creates a frustrating dilemma, as it makes staying an unappealing option, yet forces you to pay more for takeaway. Additionally, the absence of Wi-Fi is a significant downside in 2025, especially for a coffee shop, making the space feel outdated and not customer-focused.
Payment Options & Customer Experience: The policy of not accepting cash is inconvenient and seems designed to make transactions easier for the staff, but it’s not customer-friendly. It forces customers into one payment method and limits flexibility. The overall experience leaves me questioning the purpose of this coffee shop—everything feels tailored more toward business efficiency than customer satisfaction.
Seating & Ambiance: The seating area is cramped, with no cushioning, making it uncomfortable to stay. The large space feels underutilized, and the overall atmosphere lacks a welcoming or cozy vibe.
Value for Money: At €11.20 for two coffees and a cheesecake, the pricing feels steep for what was an unremarkable and forgettable experience.
Conclusion: Overall, I would rate this coffee shop 1/5. The lack of attention to customer experience and the feeling of a business-first approach makes it unlikely I’ll return. The absence of Wi-Fi, uncomfortable seating, and subpar offerings leave it feeling more like a place to rush through than to enjoy.
Thank you...
Read moreBraving the heavy rain in Lisbon, I found this cafe to be a very cosy place with a relaxed atmosphere. It was nice to go to a specialty place that does not have any pretentiousness, and the staff do not have snobby attitudes. It makes learning and appreciating what they have and do much easier. So, thank you!
I came here with the sole intention of having Aeropress coffee because I heard very few people here do it, and this is the best place for it in Portugal. The coffee was well done, and the full of all sorts of fruity and nutty flavour. (I am no coffee expert so I can't tell anyone all the technical things about the beans or anything, but I know a good tasting coffee when I have it.) Not very bitter at all and prepared perfectly in the Aeropress.
Normally, with the exception of Mexico, when I order Aeropress, I get espresso, but here it was a pot of Americano. I generally prefer Aeropress espresso and would have liked to have been asked my preference. (Most places I've been outside here, and Mexico, automatically serve it espresso so I just assumed. My mistake! Next time, I will specify. Also getting a choice of beans would have been nice.)
I really liked how they don't offer wi-fi so you don't have seating taken up for hours with people on laptops or Facetiming. It's a very cozy space, with a nice atmosphere and pleasant staff. This is a coffee enthusiast's cafe.
Edit: their juice of the day is a miracle cure...
Read moreawesome cappuccino, so much that we actually ordered two! made with brazilian beans, which are just perfect with milk, and a foam perfect in thickness and texture. also great espresso! very friendly staff — though please, don't forget the second cappuccino ;)
fresh dishes, tasty avocado, perfect poached eggs and good bacon (which was more like ham, than traditional bacon, but still tasted great).
if the food prices were lower, it would be even better... but we'll nonetheless be back for more!
we were indeed back for more a few times, and though the quality always remained very high, the service was just always too slow. especially last time we went: e waited 30-40 minutes for some toasted bread with jam and avocado and egg (which they brought me served on toast bread too, though i explicitly asked them not to. this was no problem all other times). perhaps having more people in the kitchen and synchronising drinks and food a little more might help!
i will be back again whenever i'll come through lisbon next time, confiding that they'll have improved their service...
