This place is obviously beautiful and a hot commodity piece of real estate! Then again so is just about everywhere in Portugal! Just beautiful. We enjoyed a great meal and a few cocktails overlooking the city. It’s easy to love this place with the sweeping views and tasty food but here are a few of my loves 😊 + no likes 😑 😑 The Wait. Regardless of making a reservation, there is still typically a wait to be seated. I get it tho, once you sit down you tend to take your time soaking up all the sun and vibes from the rooftop. You never wanna get up and leave. 😂 😊 The food. Everything was yummy. We also had empanadas but since we were waiting for some time we ate them up so fast e forgot to take a picture! Lol! 😑 The Hike. OMG! Get ready to get ALLLLL your steps in here, lol! Apparently there is a shortcut elevator through a single store but we couldn’t find it 😩 We walked all the way up the bill past Zara to the top of Chiado near the park then through the gates and stone walks past the monastery to the back gates where the Topo Chiado entrance was. Needless to say, I recommend finding the elevator door, lol! The long way is a doozy to walk! 😊 The Service. Once we were seated the service was good and as quick as you can hope for at a busy restaurant. Our server made great suggestions and was pretty attentive for such a busy place. Would definitely eat here again!

Pros: amazing view and tasty pizza, vegetarian options. Cons: burrata was fake, as you can see on the photo it’s not knitted at the top and doesn’t look like pouch. Also usually when you cut it open the inside stracciatella immediately runs out and is very watery inside. This one was as firm as a cake and the taste was very different from real burrata. Also it took some time to get attention of the waitress, even when all the plates were empty she didn’t bother to take away unless we asked and it took another 5 min. She didn’t come to our arrived friends to take the order and when they called her she said wait like we were a lumber for her so we decided to leave straight away.

Super cool terrace and trendy hotspot for brunch and evening drinks right in the center of Chiado. the views are fantastic, I especially appreciated the view to the elevator which is quite unique and I had never seen it from that angle. The food is really good too and in my opinion, well priced. The service was very friendly and efficient. I also appreciated that there was so much space, there are several levels with one of them having loungers. It feels very relaxing. It was difficult though to find the entrance using Google Maps - the entrance is done via Convento do Carmo.

I went to Topo Chiado today as I fancied a burger and I had just read the Atlas Lisboa blog round up of 2018 which said it did the best burger in Lisboa, so expectations were high.

Unfortunately it was by far and away the worst burger I've had in Lisbon in the six months I've been here! Not only was it the smallest by quite some way but the burger came well done, not even a hint of pinkness. The cheese was tasteless and it was overloaded with rocket. The only saving grace was the over cooked bacon that at least gave it some flavour and the good quality brioche style bun which, despite not being very big itself, I had to take apart to make sure there actually was a burger inside! On the side were some unbrowned sad looking fries and some ketchup and manyonaise straight out of a Heinz bottle and Hellmans jar respectively. I can't say I was particularly in a rush to hand over my €10. My parter had a jasmin tea bag and hot water for €3! I did slightly better with my drink as I ordered a small beer, the waiter brought a big one and when I mentioned his mistake he allowed me to keep the large beer for the same price as a small one.

The location is great though and I'd consider coming back in the summer for a drink if I wanted an outdoor spot to hang out. I'll make sure it's either pre or post dinner somewhere...

I went there just to have a drink with a friend but the service was bad. In the bottom part of it they were not serving, it was auto service, which already is not ideal, and they only had a very small sign in the bar downstairs. If you don't get close to it you won't even see it. The waiters, despite of being nice, were all over the place and seemed very unorganized. My friend had a long island and it was tasteless, not a hint of alcohol there, plus the fact that it seemed to have cream on it as it tasted as such. All the tables were dirty, with glasses everywhere, and no one was cleaning it. I gave it a try a second time, at night, and it was even worse. We were told to wait on a line but insane amount of people passed inside, no one told them anything about it to make them wait as well, so gave me an impression of first and second class kind of clients for them, as they were giving a special treat to some people. Very unorganized, gave a very poor impression and bad experience. Personally, I would never think of coming back nor I would...
