Having gone here for lunch with a friend and our two toddlers we were not made to feel welcome at all. Upon arrival we were told in a begrudging fashion “I suppose you’ll be needing a big table”, despite purposely going at 1pm before the busy lunch hour (2pm in Spain) and the restaurant being almost empty, except for one lady and one family with older children.
When the food came we put our toddlers watching cartoons rather than have them run around, and were asked to lower the volume of the phone (it was not obnoxiously loud) because we were “bothering another table”. I don’t mind being politely asked to do something, but saying we were “bothering” another table was a little over the top, seeing as at that point only two other customers had arrived. They didn’t have any high chairs either.
Having said that, the food was great, and one of the waiters was particularly friendly, helping us to take the buggy up and down the stairs and being kind to the children. However, another waiter was downright rude, never smiling once when addressing us, basically making us feel as if we weren’t wanted there, and asking us in a not-so-friendly tone to pick a doll up off the table when we were leaving (which we were about to pick up anyway).
All in all, ok service, good food, but I wouldn’t go again, for the...
Read moreThis place was recommended in our city guide. Too bad it was probably written a long time ago. First pf all it took staff about 5 minutes to notice us at the entrance waiting to be greeted and seated. We were asked if we made a reservation and as we did not have any, it seemed to annoy the staff member. When at the table we sat down for just two seconds and someone already asked us what we would like to order. As we had not seen any menu, we asked to come back in about five minutes. Those became 20 minutes. Signalling the staff was not an option as we felt ignored. After finally ordering, the dishes were okay. I had expected high from all recommendations but none were met. Portions tasted good but not marvellous and were small. The "arroz del día" seemed to be microwaved when brought up front. We finished and it took personnel again ages to clean the table. We asked to come back in five minutes or so to be able of choosing whether we would take dessert or not. After 25 minutes we eventually managed to signal someone to get us the bill. It took us about two hours to have, what seemed in the end, a mediocre tapa. The interior looks nice but that shouldn't be any reason to come...
Read morerestaurant due to the great feedback I had received and also from the reviews that I had read prior to going to the restaurant. From the moment I arrived, we were attended by Juan, who since the beginning was very rude and condescending, I asked him for the menu and his response was a very rude and condescending response about how the menu was online, honestly how could I know that? I think that the least a waiter could do if offer that to any client who comes in, I’m not just supposed to know the menu is online. When I wanted to ask and order for something so simple as water, the waiter Juan was so rude and told me to wait in the most condescending way possible. SO RUDE! Honestly it has been by far the worst customer service I have received, but then again this is spain. I would never return based on the horrible service received by Juan. The only reason I’m giving this place 2 stars was due to the décor which I really liked and vanessa a very nice waitress, who was respectful and nice, how any...
