I wanted to eat at this restaurant since I was in Madrid and I had great expectation being a Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant. Unfortunately I was very disappointed. I was offered a table next to the entrance… in 1 hour in the background all the time delivery guys were picking up food.. a guy from the staff was walking around all the time watching around the room with a tablet like putting pressure and completely ruining the ambient, not talking about the music and general atmosphere of the place witch is way below avarage. The service was poor as well…I ordered beer, they just came up with a bottle not asking if I want glass ..not talking about pouring the beer in the glass. The quality of the ingredients also is very questionable to me I ordered some chicken tacos.. they came with some cheese on top which was very close to plastic.. when I told the waitress that I did not liked it since from the 5 tacos I returned 4 and half…they told me that I should have ordered it without cheese… like I knew beforehand that this cheese would come with that quality…
Bottom line was very very disappointing experience for me and in my opinion the price quality balance is very very bad. Paid around 70€ for 2 persons but I left with the feeling that I ate at a...
Read moreUpdate 6/17: We were quite disappointed with their service today, I had requested for our table in the basement, and they accepted the request. But when we are in the restaurant, they just brought us to the table on the ground floor right next to the cashier. I told them about the request, they just said we don't open basement until 8:30 PM. Then we were waiting until 8:15 PM, someone finally came to ask what you would like to drink and I saw some people coming in which they be brought to the basement. In the end, they agreed to let us have seats in the basement. But they didn't serve us anything until 8:35 PM. When we can see other tables, has appetizers as I came month ago. The restaurant has 2 floors, the ground floor and basement. The staff was really friendly and helpful, they recommend me to order 3 tacos instead of the set which is 5 tacos, so I won't get too full and mixed different flavors. I ordered Huarache of lanes with nopales, Cochinita pibil taco, Taco de pastor, Chicken tinga taco and Cardamom Flan. All the dishes were delicious and the dessert was amazing, it has different flavor as the Flan I tried before. A great place to enjoy Mexican food with great quality and...
Read moreNew opening at Barrio de Salamanca, same street and not at all far away from ultra pijo (forty/fifty-something’s version) and totally excessive Ten Con Ten, and where a Wogaboo used to be
This is a re-born place, after the Chueca branch (c Pelayo) closed. And it is among the new wave of high quality Mexican restaurants coming to Madrid (something that already happened with Italians). However, beware because no matter what they tell you, and even if it is a very nice place, this is quite far from being a “different” Mexican food experience, as what you get for instance at PuntoMX (which plays on a higher level)
Having said that, both the atmosphere (nicely decorated, full of young people) and the food (conventional dishes very nicely elaborated, miles ahead vs what they give you, let’s say, at Órale Compadre, not to mention Sí Señor) are quite good, as is the service
In all, a very nice experience, and a very nice, informal option for the area, especially if you’re not interested in sharing venue with Marichalar & some of his...
