A Disappointing Experience at Luz Restaurant

While the picturesque location and stunning interiors of Luz Restaurant in Lucerne initially promised a delightful outing, the experience was unfortunately marred by poor customer service.

Having studied in Zurich, I had never felt anything less than welcome and respected. To celebrate earning my PhD, I invited a friend to Luzern, hoping for a memorable meal. However, from the moment we arrived, the interaction with our waitress felt uncomfortable. Her smile seemed forced, and she was noticeably rude while taking our order. We assumed it might be due to the busy atmosphere, as she appeared to be managing the orders alone.

The situation worsened when it was time to settle the bill. Hoping to expedite the process, I inquired if I could pay at the cashier. Her curt response was to "hold on," which surprisingly took 15 minutes. This lack of professionalism and consideration was disheartening.

To add to the disappointment, her behavior during the payment process felt sneaky. I initially chose not to leave a tip due to the service quality, but she subtly retained 2 Swiss Francs instead of returning them with the change. Although my friends noticed and tried to address it, she quickly pocketed the coin.

Overall, this experience left me with a negative impression of Luz Restaurant. Unless there are improvements in the service quality, I am unlikely to return. Such encounters remind us that excellent customer service is crucial, regardless of how impressive the location or...

A Truly Unforgettable Experience!

First of all, I must apologize for this very late review—life got in the way, but I couldn't let this go unshared. I don’t even know where to begin! The service at SeeBistro Liz is absolutely outstanding. On the day we visited, we tried to get a table at several other places but had no luck. My kids and I were quite hungry and craving something unique. A big shout-out to a lovely member of staff (I’m so sorry I don’t remember her name now) who was incredibly kind and offered us a table with a stunning view—I can't thank her enough. The gentleman at the till was also incredibly nice and suggested we try the burgers. We visited in April, and it's been four months since, but we still can’t stop thinking about those burgers! We’re not usually burger eaters, but trust me, ever since our visit, we’ve been desperately trying to find a burger with the same taste, but nothing comes close. We’ve been dreaming of finding that taste in London again, but no luck. So, we've decided to book our next spring holiday in Switzerland just to relive that experience!

In Lucerne there are not many bars that I like. However, this little cute bar across the train station that is super super nice for a quick coffee or later for a drink. I think the have also a variety of tees and I would also suggest you some food over there. I didn't have the chance to take some when I was there but it seemed that many people were going there just to have some food.
