This restaurant is a typical example of how outdated and untrustworthy the Michelin guide can be. The restaurant is old-fashioned located inside the hotel. There is nothing modern in the environment, but I could have overlooked that if the food was balancing this out. I was wrong though. The food is the classic old-school, something that one could admire in the 90s and speak about it to their friends. Not these days though. We tried the tagliolini with the raw red shrimp (very flat, pasta was like a mush, sauce tasted only like cream, but the shrimps were quite fresh - not that the particular ones need a lot of help, they are delicious on their own), the burrata ravioli that tasted like rubber and had a tasty but overwhelming amount of tomato sauce with them and the turbot cooked in a salt crust, which was well cooked but it's extremely difficult to overcook a fish that way. We were not fan of the desserts, so asked for 2 scoops of ice cream. Instead we received 6 scoops (3 of each flavor) that cost us 36 CHF!!!! Never seen this before in my life. The whole meal came in a huge cost per person and obviously not worth it at all. The only positive recollection and the reason I am giving it 2 stars is because of the super polite servers and eagerness to be helpful. I would not go back to this place and would urge the chef to reconsider his menu choices and the Michelin guide where they award...
Read moreOur dining experience at Ristorante Capri (1 Michelin star) was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment we arrived, the impeccable service and warm hospitality set the tone for an unforgettable evening.
The menu showcased exquisite Mediterranean flavors, skillfully crafted with premium ingredients and innovative techniques. Each dish was a masterpiece, both visually stunning and bursting with refined flavors. The attention to detail was evident in every bite – from the delicate seafood to the perfectly balanced sauces.
Highlights included a sublime pasta dish, cooked to perfection, and a succulent main course that captured the essence of Italian cuisine while adding a modern twist. The desserts were a sweet symphony, providing the perfect conclusion to an extraordinary meal.
To elevate the experience, we enjoyed a bottle of fine champagne, which perfectly complemented the flavors of each course and added a touch of celebration to an already exceptional evening.
With breathtaking views, flawless service, and a menu that celebrates culinary artistry, Ristorante Capri delivers an experience worthy of its Michelin star. A true gastronomic delight, perfect for those seeking a memorable fine...
Read moreExtremely disappointed in every aspect of our dining experience. Service was quite poor and far from Michelin quality. The 'head server' (in this instance, the one who carves table side) came to take our order before we were even offered drinks. The one female waitress asigned to our table was abrupt, extremely rude and condescending to her fellow workers. She neglected to refill our water glasses (we got up and did it ourselves). We asked for simple items and she did not deliver them (balsamic for bread and a cocktail menu). We do not know how this restaurant earned a Michelin star. Will not dine here again or recommend. Food is mediocre at best. The $200 rotisserie chicken is a joke. The lobster pasta was terrible- with the lobster undercooked and slimy, and the pasta over the top al Dente, it crunched as we bit into it. There are so many wonderful restaurants in Zermatt.
