The Hangover Bangkok — Restaurant in Khlong Tan Subdistrict

Interesting little place on Soi 22. I enjoyed the warmth of the wood decor. There's an upstairs with extra seating and a pool table, and you access that via a spiral wooden staircase that's pretty cool. They didn't have air/con when I was there, but plenty of fans throughout the lower level kept the air circulating. It was still pretty hot though since the pub entrance faces west and catches a fair bit of the afternoon sun. Smoking is allowed inside, so non-smokers might feel a bit uncomfortable in the tight quarters. The pub is right on the main drag, so you have an ideal perch on some of the outer tables for people watching if that's your thing. I visited on a Tuesday late afternoon, but the beers were still 120 Baht, which is high for the location and time of day. Most places throughout Bangkok are offering some kind of happy hour at that time of day. I bought the same sized bottle of Singha at two other pubs on Soi 22 that afternoon for 80 Baht a piece. On a more positive note, I also sampled the food here (gai satay), and it was excellent. And the wait staff were attentive and friendly. Bo, Jackie, and Ae were very chatty and pleasant. The bar is probably 3.5 stars for me all things considered, but I don't think I'm the only reviewer who's made the same observation about expensive...

If your dutch dont even bother going to get a taste like home, my mother could burn water and even that was tastier then this. Everything came out the kitchen undercooked and luke warm. Fries (kapsalon) came white with cheese on bottom and the shawarma was cold on top of ice cold lettuce. The sausagebread was undercooked so the dough wasnt risen yet the kaassoufle was yellow and not goldbrowm with the cheese barely melted. I would give it 0 stars if i could. Im gonna have to go home and cry myself to sleep for paying over 1000 baht for this. Edit to Owners response. I never said your menu sucked. But perhaps you can show the chef how to prepare these fried fingerfood. The bitterballen waren hapklaar en ik kan zeggen dat et lekker was maar niemand houd van een kouwe bal. A generally nice place with okay-ish pricing that could be slightly better aligned with the quality of experience. They really need to do something about the air-conditioning/ventilation and add foam panels or lots of soft things around. It gets hot/suffocating indoors and really loud even when the large front doors are open all the way. When the place is full of people, it is hard to talk without raising your voice even if the music is turned down - mainly because of how its layout and hard surfaces work together to amplify sound. For that reason, the best tables are outside!...
