The restaurant is conveniently located in the popular Siam district, which has a large shopping mall and many restaurants.

I wanted to make sure I tried some diverse menu items so I could give a fair review, so I tried the grandma’s rice, the famous chicken wings, and the Tom yum goong soup. The food is decent, but the place is a bit over hyped.

All three dishes came out above average, but there are some things they could do better.

Tom yum soup has a bunch of inedible vegetables in it that are so hard they cannot be chewed. The soup flavor is quite good though if you can handle spicy. I suspect a typical westerner will not be able to handle the spice level.

The chicken wings are crispy and quite good. Would be nice if they had a small dipping sauce with them, but the flavor is good. Keep in mind they are about 1/3 the size of a western wing ding.

The grandma’s rice was hearty and filling, but tasted like it was missing something. The flavor pairing is a bit off.

The Thai tea is good, the service is great, and it’s hard to beat the cost. For those three items, Thai tea, and a coke, my total was around 375...

I. Basil Pork - Just average, it is fragrant but the pork is overcooked, and tastes a little powdery Ii. Phad Thai - Lacking in terms of flavor, just feels quite bland / just slightly sweet, and does not have the fragrance that comes with high heat cooking Iii. Oyster omelette - crispy omelette which was nice, but oysters are very small and no umami Iv. Chicken wings - Nice crispy fry on the skin, but as the restaurant wanted to create the illusion of having “more” by cutting the mid wings into 2, it caused the wing to dry up V. Tom Yum Goong - The only highlight I had over here, super umami, and not a single component that dominates the whole dish, it is the right amount of spice, acidity, even slight sweetness and light enough to make me want to finish the whole bowl by myself VI. “Larb” pork salad - Refreshing side, taste was bright and acidic, making it appetising for other dishes but the meat can be a bit overcooked/powdery

The queue moves relatively fast, but I would say not necessary to visit specially for this unless you’re in the area

Food is served relatively...

Service: service was excellent, the staff were really friendly despite not being well versed in english

Waiting time: we arrived around 7 on a weekday and waited about 15mins despite the restaurant being relatively full. food took around 20mins to arrive

Price: really affordable price points, but portions are abit on the smaller side

Food: food was pretty good. very homey feel and overall, would definitely recommend people to come here to eat. our orders were:

  1. pad thai was alright. definitely have tasted better pad thais out there.

  2. green curry pretty good green curry being served here. i think this was the best dish out of all

  3. omelette with pork i found this pretty standard. compliments the meal well. would recommend if you love omelette

  4. basil pork with rice this was pretty good. wasnt too sweet and not too spicy as well.

  5. grandma fried rice this was very good. unique flavour to fried rice that i havent eaten before.

  6. ivygourd and minced pork simple but delightful dish. would recommend as a filler dish but definitely does not take...

A Thai friend brought me here and said that it is a popular eatery among the University students in the area for its taste and price. They definitely live up to this reputation. Every single dish we ordered have been superb. I personally like the deep fried catfish. No bones just meat. They also have vegetables that are Thai, at least not found in Singapore. First time trying 2 types of vegetables in a meal. Their Tom Kha is superb. The fragrance of the gulangka is richly balanced with the coconut milk and other spices. Their salad is great too, tried their papaya salad and wing bean salad. 👍🏼😋 Do end of your meal with their dessert. All 3 in the menu are good. Service staff here is very prompt and the kitchen that is visible to us has about 10 staff getting food ready. Food comes pretty fast which is great! P.S. we came off peak hours at around 4pm and we had to wait about 30min for a table. I was told peak hours the line is crazy long. Be prepared to queue but I think it is worth the wait.

In-teeerrr (how many Thais pronounce Inter - short for international) is a beloved Siam Square eatery. A favorite with students, office workers, and shoppers since it opened inn1981, Inter is renowned for its budget-friendly, super selection of Thai dishes. Inter has also - over the years - been discovered and adored by tourists from all parts of the world but especially China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Taiwan. It’s hard to single out specific dishes because their consistency and quality is what makes Inter so special. But I love their som tam, stir fried tube noodles, chicken wings, and Nam fried rice. Staff are efficient and like to keep the tables moving - so come for the food, eat, and quickly move on to a nearby cafe or ice cream shop if you want to chat. Expect to pay between 70 to 90 baht per dish and order many plates to enjoy the diversity of Thai food. And try to avoid main dining times, Inter gets busy - super busy.
