Crispy, Juicy, and Unbeatable Refill Perfection Tonkatsu Wako serves up a dining experience that feels like a delicious ritual. The star of the show? Perfectly crispy pork cutlets with a juicy interior, paired with unlimited refills of fluffy Japanese rice, fresh shredded cabbage, and hot green tea. Here’s the fun part—the rice comes in a personal mini rice pot, steaming hot, like it was just made for you. Every scoop feels like unearthing treasure! The sesame dressing for the cabbage is a game-changer, and swirling it around before you pour it feels oddly satisfying. Want another refill? Just ask, no judgment—Wako wants you to leave full and happy. The queue is long on weekends, but the efficient staff keeps it moving. They even let you pre-order while waiting so you can dive right in once seated. Prices are reasonable for the quality, and the experience feels like a warm embrace of Japanese hospitality. Pros & Cons: • Pros: Crispy and juicy tonkatsu, unlimited rice and cabbage, fun mini rice pot gimmick, attentive service. • Cons: Long queues during peak hours, tight seating in some branches, and a hint of kitchen smells if seated close. Conclusion: Tonkatsu Wako isn’t just a meal; it’s an experience. The crispy pork, the endless refills, and the mini rice pot make it more than just dining—it’s dining with flair. Perfect for tonkatsu fans and anyone who loves a good food gimmick. Try it, and don’t forget to swirl that sesame dressing—it’s all part of the fun!

I’ve traveled through Thailand and enjoyed its fantastic cuisine, but this restaurant served one of the most unforgettable meals of my journey—and possibly my life. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere and vibe were impeccable. The ambiance was serene, the service outstanding, and every detail felt thoughtfully curated to create a perfect dining experience. I ordered the tonkatsu fillet, and it was simply indescribable. The pork was so tender it practically melted in my mouth, cooked to absolute perfection. Each bite was a harmonious blend of texture and flavor, paired beautifully with the sauces: one tangy, one nutty, and one with a refreshing citrus note. Together, they elevated the meal to something extraordinary. Even the accompanying miso soup, rice, and cabbage were perfect complements, showcasing a level of care and balance I’ve rarely seen. This meal was so incredible it didn’t just satisfy me—it inspired me. It reminded me why food is such an art form and convinced me to plan a trip to Japan, the birthplace of tonkatsu, to explore its culinary roots. If you’re looking for more than just a meal—if you’re looking for an experience that will stay with you long after the last bite—this is the place to go. I can’t recommend it enough.

I visited this restaurant more than 10 times since its opening. This time, recently on 3/Jun/2018 around 3pm, i feel the food tastes still maintain at its quality level. However, the piece of hire katsu is so thin comparing to many times before. Also, it is obviously that the service level is dropped. The staffs are not attentive to refill cabbages or drinks. In addition, they talked to each other out loud and not related to work which never happened before. ‐-------------------- Recent update 30/Jun/2019 The pieces of pork are thicker which is good. The service is improved but seems lack of staffs. However, the food tastes is a bit dropped in overall and seems undercooked a bit as the color of each pieces seems lighter and not that crispy as expected. But this time we ordered fried fish which is really good.

Overall Review Food 5/5 Service 4/5 Ambience 4/5 Cost 5/5

Despite being located on the quieter side of central world, it is very much vibrant and has a great ambience. It may seem like another tonkatsu specialized place, but definitely transports you back to Japan. Crispy and fried to absolute golden perfection, it is definitely worth checking out this place if your nearby. Is it worth it? Absolutely, if your a fan of breaded pork cutlet or Japanese cuisine, highly recommended.

*My phone died when I was there, so didn't take photos. Will upload again when I go back!

Food Ordered the breaded pork loin cutlets, it is crispy yet light and not oily at all. Set includes refillable rice, cabbage and tea also.

Service Despite the being about 20th in line on a Sunday Lunch time, staff takes your order first to prep your order, then as soon as you are called to be seated, the food arrives shortly. Amazing efficiency. Staff are very friendly and attentive should you need any assistance.

Ambience Despite tucked away in the quieter parts, the ambience takes you back briefly, like your in Japan It is very clean and well maintained overall.

Cost For a Tonkatsu joint, the price range makes sense. For the quality and portions of the food, and continuously flow of cabbages and rice, it...
